So, by chance, our wedding day is also our Best Man’s Birthday! He is a ham, and we want to make a little fuss and embarass him real good at the reception (not an easy task, he is pretty unflappable!)
We were thinking of cutting him off at the beginning of his toast and singing happy birthday. Any other creative ideas? We only have a week, so it has to be something we can plan on the fly!
Thanks for your ideas!

I would personally hate if the best mans speech was cut out – they can be really good. How about if the DJ announces that the cake is about to be cut, and then a bday cake shows up (it can be a small one – don’t order one to feed all your guests!) and instead of cutting your cake, you go into singing happy birthday? Then go to your cake.

We aren’t planning to cut his speech out altogether – just hijacking it for a few minutes and then letting him continue. We also considered doing it at the end of the speech.
I love your idea, and that was actually what I had wanted to do, but we don’t have a cake for him (our baker won’t allow outside cakes), and my mom insisted that would distract from “our” moment… I might still be able to get a little cake for him if I call the bakery this week…
