proudgeek :  I agree! I feel like Fiance made it seem like he shouldn’t bring a girl he didn’t know well, so if he isn’t seeing anyone right now it would be ‘some random’ they hadn’t met, obviously.

At least this way he brought a friend of his…he probably debated not bringing anyone before finding out about this modified sweetheart set up, kind of awkward to 5th wheel with two married couples at the table that will be the centre of attention. He probably thought he HAD to bring a date or you guys would be annoyed he messed up your seating plan. That’s how I would have felt anyway.

futuremrsrslett :  We had that issue with our best man, in our situation he had an on and off again girlfriend who hated both myself and my husband and he wanted her there.

So we put our foot down. Its either you come without her or don’t come at all.

He came alone. In you’re situation you made that option available you can’t really say no now.
