We went to RIU Palace Montego Bay and absolutely loved it! We are definitely going to go back as soon as we can. It’s a smaller, adults only resort and its only about 10 minutes from the airport.

FYI, Secrets St. James and Wild Orchid are more or less the same resort. They’re right on top of each other and getting from one end of Wild Orchid to the other end of St. James is a short walk. They share all the bars, restaurants, spa, and other amenities. That’s why the reviews are so similar.

I know multiple couples who have been to St. James and loved it. We’re staying at Wild Orchid for our honeymoon in 4 weeks because we wanted a swim-out room which only Wild Orchid has.

We will be going to Secrets Wild Orchid in a couple weeks! It’s a surprise for my husbands 30th birthday! I like the secrets resorts because they are connected and we can use both facilities and if I’m correct it’s adults only too.

ak2016:  Oh man. Well it was my first time in Jamaica too so I didn’t know what to expect but I absolutely loved it and would go back again in a heartbeat. I hope you have a blast!

Be sure to bring bug spray. I’m usually not overly susceptible to bug bites but I got some really nasty ones, from sand fleas I think, that got super painful and gross. But none of my friends got it as bad as me, so you could be fine!

Take the glass bottomed boat or sunset boat cruise with Robert and Omari – they were hilarious and fantastic and if you like rum punch, you’re going to love it haha.

The beach was nice, but not my favourite of the all-inclusives I’ve been at (I prefer beaches like in Mexico, wide open ocean and waves and stuff, and this is a cove) but it was definitely nice enough to spend a day at. The small beach was a bit seaweedy, but they raked it super often. All three pools are very good, and lots of fun to hang out at.

I was there on an organized trip for a series of concerts by my favourite band so I didn’t do any excursions, but there is an excursion desk in the lobby if you’re looking for some.

The food in all the a la cartes was very good but I actually preferred eating at the buffet – there were always lots of great choices there but you can’t go wrong at any of the restaurants!

If you’re a rum drinker, try a rum and Ting. I wouldn’t have discovered it if I hadn’t asked Yonique at the main bar what she liked to drink. Ting is a grapefruit soda (but not overly sweet) and I probably had way too many of them haha.

I hope you have an amazing time – of all the all-inclusives I’ve been to, I’d say it’s my favourite. And the people are SO nice. I’m hoping to go back next year 🙂
