as an avid buyer of mu, if you enjoy the Chanel mu continue with it. It is a very good brand and won’t be bad for pictures/video.

However if you want to use a brand spicifically used for photogs, Smashbox is a very good brand and is equally priced to Chanel products (I find)

If you need any suggestions let me know!

Agree with Smashbox products.  I rarely ever use makeup, but if I’m doing a dressy occasion, I use the Smashbox photo primer then a sheer foundation and it keeps me shine-free all night.

You should also check out Make Up Forever HD Powder.  I tried it after I read that it was one of InStyle mags’ best beauty products, and I really like it so far.  I have yet to try it out with photography, but I suggest it because I really like it as a product and it is designed specifically for HD photography and videography (allegedly).

I have not tried chanel make up, but I use georgio armani luminous silk and LOVE it.  I highly recommend it!

The make uo forever HD powder is nice, it looks off putting because of how WHITE the powder is but goes on transulcent. I agree it is nice, but sometimes I find it really makes my face look BLAH!

msHymanRoth – I so have to write you a PM again with my my suggestions and recommendations, but its going to take me a bit!

Products do make a huge difference for long term makeup wearing.  For a wedding good products are really a necessity in makeup.  But over all the technique in which the product is applied is going to be what makes the biggest difference.

I have been doing hair and makeup for photo shoots for years and when I first started I couldn’t afford to fill my kit with all wonderful products – so I started using makeup that you can get at a local drug store.  The photos still looked amazing – no one would have ever known that the makeup wasn’t the most expensive best brand…  But the thing that is lacking with Cheap drug store makeup is the longevity.  It will look great for a few hours, but then it will begin to fade away/melt off ect…

For a wedding day or a photo shoot where its going to last longer then just a few hours – Good quality makeup does make a huge difference.  But also keep in mind that the way/and how much is applied really can be what makes a great makeup application to a not so great makeup application – no matter what products are used.

Some Products that I like are:

MAC – studio fix foundation

MAC- face and body foundation – but this is lighter coverage

Smashbox -HD foundation

Temptu – S/B airbrush foundation

MAC- fluid line eye liner

MAC – Pro longwear lip stick/gloss

Vincent Longo – water canvas – this is a cream to powder coverage – not too matte though

MAC- blot powder

Smachbox – Brow tech – has a wax that holds the color on your brow

It’s been said but I want to second the Smashbox suggestion. Even if you just get the photo finish primer and wear under your regular makeup…
