The fiancé and I are currently on the hunt to book a DJ for our reception in September 2013. I seriously think this task is one of the most difficult ones because you’re mainly depending on their word although music/entertainment is one of the most important aspects to ensure the success of your reception!
I have emailed the following companies, mainly based on my brief discussion with them at a few wedding shows:
-In Touch Media
Have any of you used one of these companies and if so, how was your experience? If not, who did you go with and would you recomment them?

I can’t comment on any of those companies, but our second choice (and we should have gone with them), was Quality Entertainment. They were very friendly and open to any of our ideas. We ended up going with Curtis Raymond at CJR Entertainment, and I do NOT recommend going with him.

@Shosha1: Thanks! I have heard so many horror stories about Curtis!
Do you happen to remember what the price range for Quality Entertainment’s packages was?

Here’s what I heard about Ottawa’s DJs.
There are so many out there and all seem to say that they are the best.
From my wedding planner’s experience, she says the following:
Top DJs in Ottawa:
– Pulse Entertainemnt
– In Touch
– Quality (she said they’re so big that she sees great weddings but mostly ok or and many suck)
– 613 Entertainment (cheap DJs but they don’t dress up for weddings)
The other ones…STAY AWAY!!

I was wondering if anyone new of the costs for the DJs you’ve used? I’m leaning towards Quality Entertainment as I’ve heard that they’re very reliable, but I’m open to other suggestions. Thanks 🙂

We had Scott Campbell from First Choice Entertainment. He was great! Very friendly!
We paid $550 plus tax for a June wedding including lighting for the dance floor.
