Cocktail hour: Veggies and dip, cheese and cracker trays, and nacho’s

Dinner: cucumber wrapped greens

choice of striplon of beef served with a Bacon Port and Red Wine Demi


 Sesame Seed Crusted Haddock pan-seared and Served with an Orange Ginger Sauce

Dessert: Bailey’s Irish Crème Brulée served with Praline Ice-cream and Chocolate Wafer

umm I can’t wait for the dinner part! lol

– Truffle Grill Cheese wedges with tomato soup shot
– Crab stuffed mushroom caps
– Caprese Pinwheels
– Possibly a mac and cheese bar and/or cheese and cracker display

– Pear and Walnut Salad with mozzarella cheese and a champagne viniagrette
Choice of:
– Peppercorn steak (I forget the full description!)
– Pesto and brie stuffed chicken roulade
– Vegetable Napoleon Tower

Meal served with garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus spears

Wedding Cake / Coffee and Tea
Maybe a dessert selection as well

Dinner: Asian Station with Chicken Stir Fry, Jasmine Rice, Egg Rolls, Sushi (California Rolls and Spicy Tuna Rolls), and Fortune Cookies; and/or Carving Station with Beef Tenderloin, Roasted Turkey, Mashed Potatoes with toppings, Green Bean Casserole, and Honey Glazed Carrots

Wedding Cake – White, Strawberry, Coconut cake

  • Herb roasted red potatoes
  • Grilled shrimp skewers

  • Classic yellow butter cake (first tier) with chocolate ganache filling (yellow cake w/ choc icing is our fave!!)
  • Dark chocolate mocha with raspberry ganache filling (second tier)

  • Whole cake iced in semi sweet chocolate ganache

We didn’t have a true cocktail hour since we did most of our pictures before hand, but we had a “gourmet” grilled cheese station with tomato bisque available at the start of the reception – I think everyone was more excited about that than anything else all night. :p

Dinner was an Italian buffet:

Caesar salad


Chicken picatta

Penne pasta with spicy marinara sauce (our vegetarian option for my husband!)

Pasta salad with a pesto sauce

Grilled vegetables

Fresh fruit

We also had 4 flavors of wedding cupcakes instead of a traditional cake. Man I want to go back, that was a damn good meal!

Ours is a Destination Wedding so we have the Island Reception and the Home Reception:


Beach Salad – Greens, toasted almonds, goat cheese, dried cranberries, apples and apple vinagrette.

Caesar salad – with croutons and anchovies



Honey Buttermilk Chicken Breast with White Cheddar Chive Sauce, Roasted Red Potatoes and Ginger Glazed Carrots.

Sesame Tuna with Soy Ginger Glaze, Wasabi Mashed Potates and Pineapple Salsa



Creme Brulee

Cappuccino Brownie with Pot de Creme


HOME Recpetion:

Taco bar! With….

Hard shells, soft shells, taco bowls, chips, shredded chicken, ground beef, shredded chicken Chimichangas, queso, pico, refried beans, Spanish rice, lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream, guacamole and margaritas.

Dessert: Carrot cake wedding cake, hostess-style cupcakes, funfetti cupcakes and gluten free cake pops.


Hm. I can’t wait to eat.

oooh I just got our menu cards printed!! I am hoping that the whole thing about brides not eating on their wedding day is a myth because I want to eat this deliciousness!!

@MIBEETOWED:  It’s funny, I make us almost this exact salad all the time for lunch. The only difference is that I usually use a light honey mustard instead of a vinagrette and sometimes use berries instead of apples. But the almond/goat cheese/craisins/fruit combo happens at least a few times a month at our house. I was really happy when I saw it on the menu because we love it!
