alee88:  Patsy’s Pizza! 2287 First Ave in Manhattan. Cash only. Absolutely delicious….it’s the perfect NY slice. I was a loyal costumer for my 6 years in the city! Grimaldi’s is pretty good too.

Artichoke Pizza. They have a couple of locations and you can also get pizza without artichoke;) Don’t get the $1 slices, they are disgusting lol

I live in the city and I’m a big pizza fan! I went to college in the city too and spent 4 years trying every pizza place and cupcake place with my friends, so I promise I’m not totally crazy. There are a couple of places I like. Totally second Articoke Pizza. There are couple of locations in the West Village and in the Meatpacking District/ Chelsea area. There’s also John’s Pizza in the West Village and Times Square, Joe’s Pizza in the West Village, Anabel’s in Hell’s Kitchen, and Don Antonio’s on 50th st between 8th and 9th avenues. If you’re venturing into Brooklyn, Grimaldi’s, which is right over the Brooklyn Bridge, is great too.

Buymymixtape:  I totally disagree! The $1 pizza places can be great! But then again, when you’re starving and it’s the only thing around, anything would be good!

EDIT: I second Patsy’s too! The one on University Place in the Union Square area is my favorite.

I went to Little Italy Pizza near Times Square, and it was phenomenal.

alee88:  Patsy’s, the original, 1st and 118th

The Rat Pack came here. Coppola got his inspiration for The Godfather here. Cash only, dine in and get a pie and a pasta special. Absolutely incredible. My favorites are the classic Margarita and the Polpette. We just moved a block away three weeks ago and have eaten here more times than I care to admit. Bonus- Blake Lively said she wanted to be cremated in their ovens lol

Yes to Grimaldi’s, Patsy’s, and Artichoke.

I lived in NYC for 11 years, and those are certainly my top three for taking guests.

Artichoke Pizza for me too! also I lived in Hell’s Kitchen and there’s a small deli on my block on 8th ave that I went to that was my favorite. I love the hole in the walls for pizza but its a gamble!

I’m so happy to see Grimaldi’s is a good choice. I’m hoping the one I go to in LA is the same thing!

It depends on what kind of pizza you are looking for:

For a great NYC slice: Johns of Bleeker is imo the most quintessential NYC pizza. They only sell pies, but two of you can split a small pie. Highly recomend the meatball pie.

Roberta’s in BK or at some of the food markets can be great as well!

I personally hate artichoke, I think it only tastes good drunk.

Di fara in brookln, Rubirosa is great if you are in little italy.

Keste is great for neopolitan style pizza

asobos:  I’m not an artichoke fan either. Like you said, it’s best after a few drinks. But I in no way consider it to be NY style pizza.

Patsys or Robertas (there one at a food market near grand central now). I’ve never been impressed by Johns.
