The best bang for your buck is going to be online- James Allen, Blue Nile, or Adiamor set a locAl (non chain) jeweler.

Definitely JamesAllen.com, they have great prices and you can actually see the diamond

I really love Brian Gavin. A few of my friends have rings from Blue Nile and they are beautiful too. Good luck!

Mine came from Blue Nile.  It was the best price for the specs.  I definitely wouldn’t suggest chain jewelry stores.  They do significant upcharge for GIA certified diamonds, at least I know Zales does.

We went with James Allen because the prices are good but you can also view video of each diamond, so you can really make an informed decision based on specs and how it looks. I’m so excited to see it in person!

I you go to pricescope.com you can search for diamonds using your desired specs and it will show diamonds that match those specs from multiple online retailers.  It is also a great educational tool as you can ask questions in their forum section in addition to the sections on the 4Cs, and shapes.  Your best value is to purchase a loose diamond from an online retailer or moissanite and have it set for you.  If you have a small budget you might consider pawn shops, Etsy or Overstock.com.

We got mine from Whiteflash. I like the stricter parameters of their ACA H&A stones, the AGS grading and being able to see an inclusion plot in the grading reports even for under 1 ct stones.

If you want to save some money, I would recommend buying from JA and going lower in clarity cause you can see the diamond.

Enchanted Diamonds is where I got mine, and also the custom setting. They beat everyone’s prices on GIA stones so if you find something from james allen or blue nile they will beat the price. So far I haven’t come across a better priced stone than the one I got from them.

They also warranty their rings for life – including return shipping! So if it needs resizing, redipping, prong work, ANYTHING, you do not pay a cent. Don’t even need to buy an extended warranty.

Retail stores quoted the diamond of my spec $32,000, I paid $15,000 buying from Blue Nile. If you want the best spec for a fair price, buy online like PP said
