I love New York and Company and Maurice’s myself.  I’m very “average” though…  What you might want to consider doing too is get pants that fit you through the butt and thighs and then have the waist altered to fit your body.  It’s actually a super easy alteration to bring the waistband in a bit, even though you may not like the size that they end up being.  🙁

I know Vanity does sizing like guys’ pants are, so waist size and in-seam length…I’ve owned some jeans from there and have been very happy with them.  I’m not sure if they have dress pants, but it might be worth a look!

The Limited and Anne Taylor has always worked for me. I have a much smaller waist, but a fuller backside. They can be pricey, but the run quite a few sales.

A tailor can be your best friend. Buy pants that fit the largest parts, then get the waist taken in.

cherryiice:  you wouldnt think they would work but i have a similar figure and j crew pants look awesome on me. very slight gap at the waist but nothing a tailor can’t easily edit.

i also recently got some slightly dressy pants from Eddie Bauer and I’ve been really happy with them too.

I feel your pain, I have terrible luck with pants in general. I think because of my butt I like the rise to be a little higher than normal So I don’t feel like my ass is hanging out, but I don’t want “mom” pants. the struggle is real

Pixie pants from Old Navy. They’re all I wear to work. If you like skinny pants that are ankle length, I promise these are great!

I love Theory’s pants material and they stretch and move with me.  Banana Republic, J Crew and Ann Taylor all are decent for dress pants also but I find that they lose their shape over time.  I believe that BR and Ann Taylor have different cuts for different body types.  I am jealous of your hourglass figure – I unfortunately have no curves whatsover. I hope that helps, best wishes!

I love Kohl’s for shopping for pants because they have so many brands! My favorite work pants are Gloria Vanderbilt brand that I got at Kohl’s. They fit well and it’s hard for me to find pants I like.

I run between a size 6-9 and am pear shaped. Women’s dress pants or really any good fitting pair of pants is hard to find. I usually try on 10+ pairs before I fine ond that works. Just found a really awesome pair at Gap (everything was 40% off too!) It was their Modern Bootcut.
