asobos:  My take on them after registering there is that they don’t offer items you can’t get anywhere else, so you may as well go to a place that has better operation and customer service. I buy clothes from Bloomies and it’s never been a problem, so I just registered there without really even thinking about it. Mistake. 🙁

FantasticFawn:  Same, even though their customer service has gotten painful (the soho store is the worst!)  Where else do you register? I’m thinking william sonoma but need an additional option.

asobos:  I also registered at Williams-Sonoma – just there and Bloomies. Their customer service is pretty much nonexistent, lol. We went to the store and took an hour or two to physically scan the items we wanted, and it just did not upload to the online registry at all. I didn’t mind too much because we scanned a lot of random things and the registry needed to be redone anyway, but still annoying to put all that effort in for nothing. We also made an appointment and had to wait for an entire hour before a registry consultant would see us. OK for a walk-in, not so much when you call and book in advance. They don’t send shipping emails, which is frustrating, and a few times they have forgotten to include the packing slip with the gift so I can’t tell exactly who a gift is from for purposes of a thank you card.

Basically, my registry experience has sucked, haha. Hope yours is better.

asobos:  Haha, don’t give up! I hear from friends that BBB has a good registry program, although I haven’t looked into it myself. Also, idk if Nordies has a registry program, but they are far and away the best department store for customer service. If they do, that would probably be a safe bet.

We did Bed, Bath, and Beyond and it was great. It was fun and easy to register in a store, and they have a wide variety of quality/prices which is great because sometimes you want a $6 gravy boat and really nice, luxurious towels all under the same roof/registry. Guests can either order online and have it shipped to us/them or buy in store and there’s always those 20% off coupons. Also now that our wedding date passed, they made a 10% additional coupon code available on all remaining items for us to buy if we want.
