Depends what you are interested in. Do you prefer cities or the countryside? Museums or parks? There are lots of museums in Ottawa as well as the Parliment Buildings. Toronto if you want shopping, zoo, amusement parks. The Kingston area and Niagara are also really nice (Niagara has the falls and there are lovely wineries in the area as well). I love Montreal and old Quebec City. They have a very European flavour.

I love Niagara on the lake and kitchener / waterloo.  Ottawa is an amazing city and I have never made it to Quebec City or Montreal although I want to!  Halifax is another amazing city!

loudsilence99:  Definitely do Montreal, it’s a great “walking city” you can visit many neighbourhoods on foot and always find something romantic (e.g. strolling through Old Montreal) or neat to do.  It’s also a major foodie town, so you’ll always find something delicious (and diverse) to stop and eat.  If you can do a day trip to Quebec City while you’re in Montreal, that would be lovely.  It is a lovely historic city with nice walking areas and French style bistros.  Skip Toronto, I grew up there and while I love it, it’s not the best tourist city.  Victoria is a beautiful city.  Also the Niagra region, touring wine country is nice.

I second Montreal, especially “Old Montreal”…it looks like you’re in Europe there!

I agree with Montreal, it was beautiful and the botanical garden was amazing, I want to go back so bad. Maybe in a few years.

Definitely do Quebec City. It’s a two hour train from montreal and the architecture and cobble streets are gorgeous.

I definitely agree with Montreal and Quebec city!  Old Quebec is so beautiful, and it really does feel like you’re in Europe!

I’d definitely suggest Halifax and surrounding area too.  I lived in Halifax for 5 years, and I think its a really nice city to visit.  The harbourfront is really easy to get to and walk around on, and there are lots of harbour tours, whale-watching, boat cruises etc, if that’s your thing.  I would definitely also do some of the surrounding towns, like Peggy’s cove, Mahone Bay, Lunenburg, and Chester.  They’re very beautiful and quaint with lots of local shops.

Hope you enjoy your trip!
