I’m really digging smoothies lately, especially as a snack after a workout. Made one today that was AMAZING- 1 scoop of vanilla ice cream flavoured protein powder, a couple handfuls of frozen mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries), a generous splash of skim milk and about 1/2-3/4 tsp of dark chocolate syrup. Blend it all up. It comes out tasting and having a similar texture to a chocolate fruit mousse dessert! I think I may start drinking them more often and may even go pick up some chocolate protein powder to see if I can get the same effect without the dark chocolate syrup.
Anyone have their favourite smoothie recipes that they want to share?

My new fave:
1 cup almond milk
1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tbsp peanut butter
Blend together, and serve over ice!! It is delicious, refreshing, and usually my breakfast in the morning 🙂

i think I posted in another thread but Cacao powder is quite good for you and gives a lovely choc flavor to smoothies! It’s not sweet though but I prefer non-sweetened smoothies especially after a vigorous workout, anything too sweet makes me feel sick.
NB: cacao is not to be confused with cocoa 🙂 – completely different beast.
but in any case, your smoothie sounds yum!
