Hi bees!
So Fiance and I are just 6 weeks away from our big day! We went through mingling of souls, which was great for talking about sex and its role in marriage, but we are looking for something biblical to really delve into. We don’t want to do 5 love languages or any of the cheesy ones, my Fiance wants something strictly biblical-based. We’ve heard of catching foxes, and were looking at that, but I wanted to go to you guys for advice on any other premarital studies you’d suggest.

I don’t have any recommendations as what I have and will read is either specific to cross cultural marriages or in French. But the French ones I found by asking a pastor. Asking a pastor seems like your best option too.

Before You Say I Do by H. Norman Wright is really great! We used the workbook in our 8 week premarital class at our church.

Have you looked into Prepare Enrich? There are several different versions and you can ask your therapist or leader to do the religious based version. There’s a catholic version, a Protestant version, and a few others. I just went through the facilitator training yesterday and feel it’s an excellent program. And, some states will give you your marriage license for free just for completing the program.

The Meaning of Marriage is good and so is Love and Respect. We used Saving Your Marriage Before It Starts as part of our church premarital counseling and it was good.

For the financial preparation, I highly recommend Financial Peace University. Our church required it for pre-marital and they offered it as a class study on sundays. It was great!
