My friend for her first child said that a swing was the best thing they ever bought. Their baby would only fall asleep if he was in it. Now that being said I’ve heard other people say their children hated the swing so it’d probably be best to borrow one and see how it works.

@MrsRose:  We got a swing that the seat turns both ways, so it rocks and cradles.

Someone got us a Braun ear thermometer (I’ve heard it is a good idea to have a rectal as well to confirm, but to just do a quick check the ear one works in like a second and doesn’t hurt as much as anything up the bum!)

It all depends on the mom/baby.  My son hated the swing/ hated the bumbo… he loves his minky blanket.  It is big enough for him and one of us to cuddle together.

I definitely reccomend swaddles…. our baby has always been a good sleeper and I contribute it to swaddling her from day 1. We also could never have lived without our swing…. it plugs in… which I reccomend as well
