I cant even begin to express how excited I am about our wedding food. I have always had mediocre banquet food, my family and I are sort of foodies so what some people think is good wedding food weve always disliked. We picked a country club for our venus and we were all expecting just mediocre luke warm food prepared hours and hours ahead….well we ewre wrong Weve done two tastings so far and have no hated a single thing.
First world bride problems here…….I wish we disliked some of the food because it would be easier to decide on a menu, but isntead we liked all of it so narrowing it down to three choices is going to be tough.
Here are some of the dishes we have had.
6oz Fillet Mignon with garlic pan sauce, served with roasted asparagus and mashed potatos
4oz Fillet Mignon with a pepper crust, served with two lobster stuffed shrimp, green bean baskets and roasted fignerling potatos.
Parmesan crusted chicken with stuffed zuchini and mashed sweet potatos in a parmesan basket.
Half roasted chicken (boneless except for one part but thats just for appearance) served with a pan gravy, roasted asparagus and roasted fignerling potatos. This was actually my all time favrotie out of the dishes, i thought i was going to hate it because it had a bone in it, and who serves guests food with bones??? but it was the most moist, most flavorful chicken I have ever had. The pan gravy was not a traditional gravy it was lighter and more buttery, cant even explain.
Some other side dishes we had were a mushroom rissoto, saffron rice, vegetable medely,
We also had some fish entrees which I didnt pay much attention to but my family loved. I am really picky about fish and banquet fish does not seem appetizing to me now matter how good people say it is. I am leaving the 3rd entree up to my parents they can decide on the fish.
($10 says someone comments on this “whats the point of this? what are you asking for” because that alyways happens) I am not posting this to ask for help, I am merely posting because I am really really pleased with our location and our food. I tried to get a fairtale location that looked like our wedding was in a magazine but reality set in, and I am getting married at a country club….not a problem expecially since our guests will love the food, have some good drinks and our wedding will be amazing. Just thought the board needed a few more happy posts today 🙂
I also said yes to my dress this saturday! yay! things are coming together!
