We haven’t registered yet but some ‘splurge’ items we are thinking about (that you don’t have) would be a Dyson vacuum and a BBQ 🙂

Ha ha! I just started a thread like this a few days ago. The two big ticket items on our registry are a luggage set and a Roomba. Other than that, everything is pretty standard kitchen/power tool stuff.

I will die if someone gets us a Roomba. It would be the coolest thing EVER, but I’m not holding my breath. They’re like $600. Each suitcase is about $200-$300, so that is in your range!

Looks good. Just smile and nod.  There are options there for people who want to splurge. I recommend asking for what you want  🙂 We love our crystal but thats bc we aren’t afraid to use it. If you really feel guilty, register for a crystal bowl or vase or something.  My husband watched football by floating candle in our crystal bowl to begin with lol. The registry is for your new life together  We already had a plate break so we’re pretty happy it doesnt cost much to replace.

We registered for a Margaritaville machine and someone actually purchased it for us! I thought that was a splurge at $200…

But don’t let anyone push you to register for things you don’t want/won’t use. It is your decision after all

Our big splurge items are similar – Dyson, KA Stand Mixer, a pot/pan set (we’re using my old ones and they are shite, to put it mildly).

But I’ve seen tents, camping stoves, BBQs, porch swings, smokers, patio furniture, outdoor dishes/glasses/serving sets all on friends’ registries.

  • Microwave (old one was ancient)

MountainView:  We added the DC44 Animal to our registry ($499.99) and it was one of the first things bought. Our stand mixer was bought… and a lot of high end appliances were population like a great coffee maker, food processor, knife set… that stuff! 🙂

MountainView:  Definitely add a nice vaccuum.  That was the best thing we registered for.  Other than that our registry was mostly under $50.  I’m a bargain shopper too so even though it’s other people’s money I don’t see the need to spend a lot of money on something when you can get the same thing or an equivalent for a more reasonable price.

I would wait until people buy the larger ticket items you really want before adding others that you only kind of want.

I’ve been cooking and buying all that stuff for years now, so it’s actually harder for us to find lower-priced items to register for.  We’ve gotten a few of these already, but I’m guessing we won’t get most of them.  Having them on our registry is a wonderful excuse for me to buy them after the wedding though.   Our splurge items:

  • kitchenaid mixer
  • excellent espresso maker
  • mauviel copper pots/pans
  • all-clad d5 pots/pans
  • a few le creuset enameled cast iron items
  • amazing rice cooker
  • vitamix blender
  • cuisinart griddler
  • wusthof knives
  • ice cream maker
  • nice wine glasses
  • luggage

Items we are registered for that are nicer/over $100:

  • floor steamer
  • Wusthof knives
  • flatware set
  • dinnerware set
  • rolling bar
  • coffee table
  • Le Creuset bakeware
  • iron
  • luggage
  • simple human trashcan
  • food processor
  • vacuum
  • microwave
  • kitchenaid mixer
  • kitchenaid mixer pasta attachments
  • toaster oven
  • file cabinets
  • artwork
  • vitamix
  • sewing machine
  • power tools
  • humidifier
  • outdoor speakers
  • camera
  • grill

Phew, we’ve got lots of pricey items! But with any cash or giftcards we get, we plan on buying items off our registry with our completion discounts. Plus we have lots of cheap items as well and lots of guests, showers, etc. to plan for!

The splurges I’m most excited for?

Le Creuset (a dutch oven and a cast iron fry pan)

KA Stand Mixer

A really nice food processor

Nice wine glasses etc (they aren’t super expensive, but more expensive than we would buy for ourselves)

I am thinking about registering for a Roomba just to get the discount afterwards – I want one so bad!

We’re going to add a really nice juicer to our registry! We bought a cheap one to see if we’d like it, and now we use it every single day. That’s one of the things I’m most excited about – hopefully someone will buy it for us, but if not, we’ll just buy it ourselves.
