I’m a bit under the weather today… headache and sick to my stomach. No high fever, no cough, etc. I am almost never sick so I’m always unprepared…. What is good for me? gatorade? chicken noodle soup? do I take advil or tough out the headache? A little silly that I don’t know this at 25 but it shows how rarely I’ve had to deal with it!

Gatorade makes me feel better every single time, for some reason! And when I’m sick to my stomach, chicken noodle soup is usually one of the only things that doesn’t sound disgusting. Also, just plain resting and moving as little as possibly always helps me. And definitely take advil if you’re in pain!

Excedrin is the only thing I use for headaches. It’s a godsend.

Try to drink a lot of juices and things too. That really helps. And yes, take medicine for your head, that’s what it was invented for!

Thanks! I have heard that about gatorade. I tried to drink a glass of water but it took me like 3 hrs bc it tastes disgusting to me right now (weird bc water is generally the only thing i drink). Just trying to make a list before I venture out to cvs.

In terms of eating, some of the best remedies for upset stomach are gingerale and soda crackers. They are so easy on the digestive tract.
For the headache, why suffer? I say take an ibuprofen (Advil). I find it is one of the best headache remedies. Also, lying down and putting something cool (like a cool facecloth) on your forehead can help with a headache too.

If it gets really bad, I take a nap. That usually clears things up for me. I can’t/don’t take anything for headaches, because nothing ever works. But usually a good nap will set things straight.

Make sure you eat something small with the medication. It breaks down in your stomach and isn’t going to feel very good if you’re battling nausea also. NSAIDs are terrible on the tummy – but ibuprofen is the best in combating headaches. If your headache is a little more serious, I would suggest getting ibuprofen with a caffiene additive (Excedrin Migraine, etc.)

For stomach sickness, I do gatorade or ginger ale and potato chips.
If you are nauseous, that is a different story.

Boo, I’m so sorry you’re not feeling well. I usually just drink a ton of water and sleep as much as I can.

I feel the exact same way right now:( the Only thing that really helps me at this point is gatorade and tylenol and rest. Hope you feel well soon.

I sleep a lot if I can. Usually some whole wheat crackers and Laughing Cow cheese go down nicely on an upset stomach.
