@ErinBlue:  Ann Taylor has a similar dress to the J Crew one you liked in a blush color.  I’m sure you could find it 40% off!

If your budget is about $350, there are quite a few options at places like David’s Bridal, as well as a lot of replicas/custom dresses from overseas.  You also have most bridesmaids dresses available as well.  I particularly like Amsale, Watters, and the JLM group’s bridesmaids styles–many of them could easily be wedding dresses.

@ErinBlue:  Depends on your type of wedding. Any dress can be a wedding dress. For evening formal, any department store that has an evening or cocktail section will have formal dresses that might fit the bill. Try vintage stores. Etsy is fun to shop.

You can always have a dressmaker take any sort of dress and re-create it with material appropriate to your wedding. The minute you take the word “Bridal” out of the equation prices drop dramatically.

Have you tried Davids Bridal? I didn’t have a budget, thanks to my awesome Mom, but I went to DB and ended up finding a dress that I love that was priced at $399 and there was a sale going on, so it ended up being less. It’s super simple and flattering and I loved that I could rely on accessories to dress it up. I had in mind a fancy dress, but it just wasn’t what I ended up loving ON me. JCrew is a great resource also, I found a great dress for the brunch we’re doing after our morning ceremony there.
