My sister had a great idea to throw me a shower that was a wine tasting theme. She is planning on having a bunch of belly tables set up with all different kinds of wine (including a bottle that my fiance and I make ourselves!). Then, the food will be cheese and crackers, grapes, etc. 🙂 I am excited to see how it turns out!

I can’t wait to be able to throw a bridal shower for a friend!

It wasn’t a bridal shower, but Jessica Claire once photographed an Alice in Wonderland themed birthday party that just blew my mind! Since then I haven’t been able to get that theme out of my head. Seriously…check it out!

A Candyland theme would be cool too!

All of the shower themes on Hostess with the Mostess are amazing!

We did a garden theme for one of my sisters and I thought is turned out pretty nice.

My Maid/Matron of Honor and Mom just came up with the best idea for my shower. They are going to do a tea party in my mom’s garden. All the ladies will wear big fancy hats and have an old fashion kind of tea party. Im super excited about it!

We did a wine tasting for friend and that worked out perfectly. The guests all got a little tipsy which helped keep the party mojo going. Everyone knows showers can be pretty boring so the more you do to keep everyone entertained the better!

I’ve also helped with a tea party theme and that was super cute too. We served a variety of cold teas, had tea pot centerpeices and gave away "vintage" tea cups with tea bags as favors.

I would love to do a cooking class or chocolate tasting eventually.

I totally agree that it was an AWESOME post!! I still loved my SATC themed party though! I’m secretly planning a "Legally Blonde" party for my sister whenever she gets married, because she is a total Cali girl that went to Harvard. I thought it would be perfect for her!

I did a shower for my sister, themed for her honeymoon destination. It was an "Afternoon in Paris" theme…complete with a mock Bistro and french food (and name cards, so guests knew what they were eating!), and framed Paris photos around the room. We even had Paris postcards for guests to write a message or marriage advice to the bride. Those were for her scrapbook.

We did torture her a bit…we made her wear a beret throughout the afternoon, but she was super cute in it! =)

I went to a shower where a cook came in and did a cooking class with us and then we got to all eat the amazing food.  It wasn’t themed throughout, but I feel like you could take that idea and run with it.  Everyone could decorate an apron for a favor, give the bride a recipe, kitchen gifts, and use different fruits/vegetables to make cute centerpieces.

My DOC recently posted this adorable shower she threw for a friend in her blog: http://joyfulweddingsandevents.blogspot.com/2009/01/sweet-and-simple-bridal-shower.html

and this fall party that is another super cute theme!!
