Fiance gave me an iPhone for Christmas (Yay for finally being up-to-date with technology!)
I’ll have this phone for several years so I want to take care of it despite the fact that I’m sure I’ll drop it.. a lot.
What case do you think is best?
Are the any apps that you would recommend too??

I have an otterbox defender and it is fantastic, just bulky, but I’m really curious about the lifeproof.

My Otterbox Commuter has saved my phone a bunch of times, but it’s not nearly as bulky as the Defender.

I had an Otterbox. It was decent, but HUGE! I am loving my new Lifeproof case! I drop my phone at least a couple times a week, even dropped it in the tub, and my phone still works wonderfully! Not to mention, that it’s slimmer and looks better.
In terms of apps, I don’t have too many “fun” ones. My fav’s are: MFP, FB, Pandora, Pinterest, Pac Man, Pitfall, Red Laser, Yelp, Gas Buddy, just to name a few.

@melisslp: I’ve been told you can’t always hear well because the speaker is blocked. True or not true?

@OnceUponATime: I can hear phone calls very well. However, if you’re listening to music (say on Pandora), it is better with the bottom clip part open.

I have an Otterbox Defender and I love it. It’s the only kind of case I’ve ever used on any of my smartphones so I haven’t had anything to compare it to so it doesn’t seem bulky to me. The day I bought it what sold me was the guy at Target had one on his iphone. He told me to walk like 5 aisles over and wait… so I did. He CHUNKED his iphone across the store, it hit the tile floor, I about had a heart attack and his phone was like ” Hey lady what’s the big deal? I’m cool” If it can make it through that then it can make it through anything I will do to it.

I don’t like the bulkiness of the defender so I got the Commuter (per my brother’s advice). It’s thinner but still has a thick enough “lip” on the front so if your phone falls on it’s face, it won’t touch the screen

Haven’t had much opportunity to test it yet but I got my Fiance the lifeproof box for xmas mainly because it’s pretty thin & not bulky like the otterbox- it’s a bit (not much) cheaper- & it’s waterproof (not just water resistant). I was also worried about the sound quality but he’s made a few calls already & so far so good- it doesn’t sound weird or reduced at all! He got caught by a rogue wave at the beach a few months ago with his phone in his pocket & it got soaked so he really needed a dependable waterproof case!

i get all my cases from http://www.miniinthebox.com
They have CHEAP and really cute cases, but they dont defend as well as the otterbox.
this is my current fun case

I have a Lifeproof and just need to install it. Currently have the Trident and it works well for knocks and bumps but it makes the phone too big.
My favorite apps are:
IMDB – look up movies, actors and shots
Flixster – movie show times
Viggle – get points for watching TV
Angry Birds and Cut the Rope
Fairway Solitare – my new addiction
Appoday – Free app every day!
Dash series (Cook, Diner, Wedding, Hotel)
Ibotta – coupons on your phone for certain products, just load it and then scan the receipt and product after purchased for credit
Google maps (need this since IOS 6 took off the automatic google maps in navigation)

@janinaPK: soo cute! I’d be too nervous if I didn’t have it in a super durable case though. That site has the best styles!

I have a rokform case for my iPhone, it’s made in the USA and its cute! And, it’s not big or bulky. And I got it in pink. I think it’s snazzy.
