popsicles, a couch, and netflix…. heh just kidding (kind of). Depends on why you have the sore throat. The reason I usually get them is from sinuses draining so sinus meds usually make me feel better.

Hot mint tea, local honey and lemon – add bourbon/whiskey if your nose is stuffed.  I call it a Kentucky Hot toddy Laughing

Sounds gross, but my great gram always had me make a “tea” out of apple cider vinegar, honey and lemon juice. It’s not as bad as it sounds, and works like a charm!

I always drink hot tea with honey and then am sucking the life out of many cough drops/throat lozenges.  Oh, and I gargle with warm water and salt.

@7SEVENJ9: I know an opera singer who does the same thing to keep his voice going all night!

Zinc, and lots of it. Cough drops with zinc or just zinc tablets. Vitamin C too, especially if you feel like you’re about to get sick.

I also drink a cup of (hot) pink grapefruit Airborne every morning if I feel sick. It’s like tea for me, haha. Kind of an acquired taste though.

Also, this sounds weird, but I swear it works – wear socks to bed. Your cold will go away 2x faster!

Garlic Garlic and Garlic – if you can stand it, chew a clove of it! If not, brew up a little water and garlic cloves and drink it as a broth. Garlic is an antiseptic and an anti-bacterial, it will kill whatever infection is going on in your throat.

It’s so gross but gargle with warm saltwater.  I HATED it as a kid but finally figured out that it works.

I always find it helpful to gargle aggressively (ha! best 2-word phrase eva?) with Listerine. Maybe it kills the bugs, maybe it just numbs the pain, but it works for me.

Gargle with baking soda water, tastes aweful, but it works.
