I just started charting my temps this month, with the pink BBT thermometer from Target. The problem is, I take my temperature before I’m actually getting up for the day, so I don’t want to turn on a bright light to look at the temp, but when I turn it back on once I’m up, the last temp flashes so briefly sometimes I miss it!
So, I’m wondering if anyone knows of a specific brand that either stores the last temp longer, or has a backlight that is light enough to read but not super, hurts your eyes in the morning bright? I missed a temp this week because I couldn’t tell if something was a 4 or a 9 before it flashed to the starting temp. Links are appreciated or just the brand name 🙂
If this has already been asked a million times, feel free to point me to the thread.

I read a whole thread on another forum about the Target brand thermometer and how it doesn’t give accurate readouts. I’ll try to find it.
Other then that, I have no idea lol

I have this BBT from Walmart: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Reli-On-60-Second-Basal-Thermometer/10161099
It doesn’t have a backlight, but it stores the last reading until the next time you turn on the thermometer. I like it!

i use this one. it was in the kit we bought for our nfp class. we got it thru ccli.org, but i’m sure you can find it other places too. i have no idea how it compares to others, but as far as i can tell it seems pretty good. when you turn it on it will show the last temperature taken for 3 seconds, which for me is enough time to read/record it. but it doesn’t have a backlight that stays on, so you will probably have hard time seeing it. i use the light from my cell phone to see it, lol. i hope that helps!

I just brought a basal therm that I got from CVS. It has a backlight but I can’t read it but when I get up, I turn it back on to get the temp recorded. Cost me $10.
