Best Thing for Preventing Belly Stretch Marks?

None of those lotions, etc actually work, according to every pregnancy website I’ve read.  I do put lotion with Vitamin E – I think it’s St Ives – on my belly still just to keep the skin more supple in hopes to avoid it, but it sounds like the best way to skip the stretch marks (if it’s not just genetically going to happen anyway) is to gain pregnancy weight very slowly so your skin has time to keep up.

I kept my belly moisturized and kept my weight gain to a reasonanable amount. I had 4 and very few stretch marks.

ADiamondInTheRough :  I used Burt’s Bees Mana Bee too! Sadly it did not prevent stretch marks (I have them on my belly and my thighs, ugh), but it did help them fade quickly and reduce skin itchiness around the stretch marks.

Oh and it didn’t bother my morning sickness like a lot of other creams did!

I used Palmers everyday and I got a million stretch marks!

Edit: I used the stretch mark lotion

i’ve mostly been using coconut oil. this is my first pregnancy (well, first time i’ve made it this far), so i can’t really say if it works, but i’ve read the same as previous posters- that there really isn’t any magic lotion that will prevent them. but i’m 34 weeks now and so far i haven’t noticed any stretch marks.

Literally any lotion to just keep your skin moisturized. Pretty much nothing is going to prevent them, I didn’t have any until the day after I had my baby! So, so sad 🙁 lol

I was convinced that Everyone lotion did the trick for me. I applied it religiously and no stretch marks! I love the scent and it goes on so smoothly too.

I used Burts Bees and didn’t have any stretch marks, but I doubt it was actually from the cream!

It’s genetics. No cream or lotion will prevent them, but will make your tight itchy belly skin more comfortable.

I’m using Go-To Skincare’s Exceptionoil twice a day and it’s gorgeous, and makes my belly feel lovely and hydrated (39 +2 today)

ohhsnap :  genetics. If your mom didn’t have them with  you you most likely won’t get them

I’m not convinced genetics are the answer. Both my mom and grandmother had bad ones…..I have very fewafter having 4 babies.  I still say weight gain has a lot to do with it.  Diet too.  If you eat foods that feed your body and not a lot of processed foods I think that helps.
