Hi Bees 🙂
For those who already got married… what is the best item or thing that you kept or was left over from the wedding that you still use? or occasionally use?
I’ll go first…
I had a greeting table with a picture of us and decored with 2 coffee cups and coffee and sugar pots (yes we are coffee lovers) and then had jenga blocks for people to write messages/wishes for us.
I have the jenga blocks built as a tower on one of our bookshelf shelf (:p) next to a candid picture of us on our wedding day.
So every once in a while I take a block out and read my Darling Husband a message… since the messages are so loving “may the honeymoon stage never end”, “wishing you wisedom and love from your grandma”, etc… It just makes us smile and be all lovey dovey…

I had about half of an 8 inch round cake left and ate it all within a week. That thing was delicious. Well, it’s all gone now but it was the best thing left over from the wedding.

Your Jenga sounds adorable 🙂
I haven’t actually done this yet… but I’m planning to hang some of the barnwood signs i made for our wedding up in our house. The “drinks” and “chow” ones are going to go in the kitchen, and I think I’ll put the “S <3 L” and “8.24.13” up in our bedroom.
@MRSsrm85: man, we ordered SO many cupcakes (way more than the caterer recommended) and they all got eaten by our drunk friends that night! I really wanted some leftovers. At least they were a hit…

@lolot: WOW Amazing! Love this idea… Maybe the initials and heart one on top of a mirror… or your bed… 🙂
I too had leftover food… and ate it the next 3 days…
My inlaws were STILL eating wedding cake 2 months later….
we have 1 lb in our freezer waiting for our 1 yr 🙂

+1 I’m glad someone else is on the same page as me! We had almost our entire cake left (one 6″ tier and one 8″ tier) – we had only got it for the cake cutting and then gave everyone else cupcakes. We also had about 20 cupcakes left. The 8″ tier was gone before we left before our honeymoon and we just cut into the 6″ tier last night. So delicious.

We had so much cake and food (pasta, steak, truffles, diff desserts, salad) that we had a massive house party the next day and it fed everyone! I guess thats the upside of having your reception at a family style italian restaurant.

We accidentally left our left over cake at my parents (7 hours away) so unfortunately we didn’t even get any leftovers!
My favorite thing is our card box. I made it and I personally think it’s pretty awesome. I like opening it occasionally and digging in for a card to read as well.

@Mrs_O: Definitely cake.
Also I kept a couple of the containers I used for the candy bar and use them for seasonal decorations now. They have little pumpkins in them. I also like our guestbook thingy that I hung in the guest room.

Booze! We bought too much and couldn’t return it. My liquor cabinet is stocked to last quite some time!

Our cake! We had 2 to go boxes left and by Monday it was all gone. Most of my family stayed in town a while so they helped eat it.
@MrsBeck: Thanks for this idea! I made our cardbox as well and didnt want to throw it away. I will use it for mail now.

Our card box will be “erased” and turned into a recipe card holder (I was giving recipe gards at my bridal shower with family recipes on them!):
About 24+ of these little apple butters haha:
My custom-made necklace:
My cake topper, which will sit on my desk for years to come and always remind me of the day:
And also our 15-inch digital photo frame, which is loaded with pictures of both of our lives to this point 🙂 We’ll probably add wedding pictures to it and it’ll sit proudly in our home!

@lolot: Those signs are adorable!
For us the flowers and the cake. Our kitchen looked and smelled amazing and there was SO MUCH CAKE! MMmm that cake was good.

@Treejewel19: Yey! I had my reception at parent’s home (big garden) and they had flower decor and scent for the rest of the week 🙂
