Very useful: a small, portable fabric steamer (~$35). A thoughtful cousin got this for my shower, and we were able to use it for the wedding to steam dresses, veil, etc. and save a bundle! Plus, I detest ironing, so it’s useful after the wedding.

Everyone will always tell you to register for items at various price points. That isn’t too hard to accomplish… we registered for everything from pot holders to a Dyson vacuum cleaner. Registering was fun, but for me personally, I wish I wouldn’t have put as much effort as I did into my registry, as I received a lot of gift cards and cash instead of actual gifts. If I could do it  again, I would have made my list much shorter and only registered for the things that I absolutely wanted, not the things that the store made me feel like I needed. I really like our Cuisinart Griddler and our Dyson. πŸ™‚

Kitchenaid Mixer, Dyson DC-26 Vacuum, and a SodaStream. Seriously, Darling Husband uses the SodaStream almost daily.

Just a small warning for registering at Target that I’ve heard from other brides is that the store is very seasonal and has a high turnover of their stock/products. This especially applies to their bed linens, holiday items, etc so anything that is moved through the stores quickly or will change with the seasons. A friend of mine did a registry with them and a lot of her bed linens and towels were unavailable by the time her shower and her wedding came up because they changed out their product selections or the item sold out. However if you plan to use them for small appliances and other products that they always seem to have available throughout the year it should be fine.

Also, I registered for a few decorative throw pillows because I hate spending that much money on a pillow but I loved getting them as gifts, lol

@wifeyoneill21:  Yes, this is true about target.  We registered maybe 5-6 months ago and of the 4 sets of linens we registered for, only 1 was still in stock when I went to complete my registry last week.  Honestly, I would only register at Target for the bare minimum you need to get the $20 gift card and only for things you want, but can live without.

Things we are really happy we registered for: Tools (we registered at Sears for those) and camping gear.

Things we forgot: Serving platters and nice flatware to go with our china.

Advice: Register for what you need/want and don’t worry about meeting some limit.  BBB will tell you to register for 2-3 things per guest and to register for super nice stuff because people want to buy you nice stuff.  Please ignore that.  Get want you want – just make sure to register for stuff at different price points.  Also, think about the space you have and whether or not you will actually use the item you registered for.  A new pressure cooker is nice, but if you are tight on space and wouldn’t regularly use it, it is something that can probably wait.

One is the Dyson pet vaccuum. I think my soon-to-be father in law will be getting it for us! I have a cat and we plan on getting two dogs in the near future, so we will get a lot of use out of it.

The other is BIG hardside suitcase that is high quality. My fiance and I would like to do lots of travelling in the next several years and he already has an excellent Filson duffle bag that he loves and will last a lifetime. Since he was already taken care of and I had no luggage at all I even got to pick the rosey/purpley/pink color and it’s sooo pretty! πŸ™‚ My mother already purchased it off our registry for me, since our wedding is destination and she wanted me to have it in time. It was such a treat to get it and I am very glad I put it on there.
