You can get them any time of year you want! 🙂 The earlier you find them, the sooner you can check that off your list!

I’d suggest starting to look no earlier than 6 months out.  Bridesmaid dresses don’t take as long as wedding dresses to arrive and don’t usually need as many alterations.  If you order too early, women may gain or lose weight or even get pregnant.  They may not see the point in spending a few hundred dollars on something that will sit in their closet for a year.

I say the sooner the better. Gives them time to save for it, and it’s one less thing for you to worry about.

i wouldn’t do it too far in advance. like another poster said, their bodies could change a lot. and you may even change your mind about it or see something else you like better. i think 6-8 months is a good time to get them. my wedding is in sept and i had my girls order their dresses this month.

We’re ordering the dresses this week.  So, 6 months out?

I asked my Maid/Matron of Honor this since she’s been in a ton of weddings, and she said definitely no less than 6 months out.

They definitely don’t take as long as wedding dresses, I think my Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses came in a little over a month and that included a slight customization we requested from WTOO.

we’re ordering our next week… little less than 7 months. But if you can get ahead, it’s not a bad idea!

I would say 6 months out.  That way, you can give people a month to get the money together and order them.  Then, you aren’t on a time crunch. 🙂

i worked in bridal for several years so from experience…6 months out is the average time frame. but you do want to allow up to 2 months for them to come in, along with any changes that may need to be made!

you want to make sure you have a month before the wedding that they are physically in the hands of all girls and the fittings are started…some can get them done in 2 weeks- but with March you also have Prom season and fittings. so i would tell my girls that they need to in their hands by Jan and schedule fittings when they come in

also if you are doing all the same dress and color, its best to order ALL gowns at the same time due to dye lots.

most bridal stores lets you put money down to pay them off.. the store im getting mine orders the dresses once everyone has half down.

good luck
