Okay, this is a dumb question and I tried searching on Google but couldn’t find answers haha. I have never gotten a professional manicure/pedicure before. I want to get my nails done for the wedding and I have plans on treating myself to the spa the day before my wedding. I am not sure when I should go get the manicure? Can I go to the spa after it (I plan on soaking in the jacuzzi tub) or will all that heat ruin my nails? It’s 11 days before my wedding and my nails are also short and in bad condition. Please advise! Thanks!

sleebihead : I would get a gel manicure to make sure there’s no chipping at all and do it either a day or two before the spa or maybe straight after when your hands are all nice and soft.

I’d do sns (powder gel)
With sns you can go as early as like 3 days?
Funny i was about to post about nails
id get one a few weeks before also. It will ensure healthy nails at even lengths

I’m doing gel mani and maybe a gel (but more likely regular) pedi on friday morning before my saturday night wedding. I wore gel nailpolish to hawaii and spent like a whole day in a spa and my nails were still perfect – hot water, steam, oils, etc. won’t ruin a gel mani 🙂

My gel manicures almost always last two weeks without budging, but they are not totally impervious to damage. Once in a blue moon I’ll get a chip if I am particularly rough on them or hit my hand the wrong way. So to be safe I’d do no earlier than the day before. The jacuzzi tub probably won’t have any affect on a gel, but I’d still do it afterwards to be safe.

Gel nails are basically car paint applied to your hands. It’s amazing and won’t budge for anything for at least a week.
If your nails are in bad form right now, and the wedding is in 11 days, (Are you May 6? Me too!) I’d honestly go in for a regular basic manicure now (like today). They can clean up your nails, even them out, put some polish on to help them grow and keep your cuticles in better shape so that when you go in next thursday or friday for a nice gel, your hands will be looking extra great.

To sum up with other posters have said, get a gel manicure the day before your wedding.

I’m getting a gel manicure the day before the wedding. That way, I can be sure that it won’t chip at all and it will last through the honeymoon. 🙂

I got a Shellac manicure two days before my wedding and my nails looked perfect.

Get a Shellac gel manicure if you can!. I do think french ones and hten just file it down as it grows out. Usually I can get a month out of them. But I wouldstill get them done no more than a day or two before. Just make sure you don’t pick at them 😉
