So, as the title states, I’m looking to do an outdoor ceremony, possibly even reception, in the Toronto or surrounding area. The venues I particularly have in mind are the Miller Lash House, Kortright Centre, or Casa Loma.
My theme is Alice in Wonderland, so it is really important to me that some component of my wedding is outdoors or has gardens that are green/in bloom. I’m unfamiliar with what the weather is like in that area, though, (I live a little ways away and do not go often enough to be familiar with weather patterns) so I’m not sure what time of year is best for my preferences.
I do not handle heat very well and I simply do not want to be sweating in my dress. Plus, humidity makes my hair frizz up and I’d hate to look like a poodle in all of the pictures.
Basically, I’m trying to avoid times of high heat or humidity. Spring seemed a safe bet, but there are the obvious concerns about rain.
This would be so much easier if global warming wasn’t messing with particular, predictable weather patterns.

@LostInWonderland: End of May, beginning of June or September are great times of year for an outdoor wedding. If you dont want to sweat the day away, forget about July or August.
Check out Everygreen Brick Works as well. It’s a huge space with lots of options for ceremonies/receptions of any size.

@blush87: Thanks for the information! That really helps! I think I’m leaning to early September because spring always makes me fear rain. That would be equally unfortunate.
I’ll definitely check out that venue, too! I appreciate it.

@LostInWonderland: Sept is a great time to get married. Children start school still in shorts and the night are nice, not hot
A great place to look at for a reception is The William Barber Estate in Mississauga. It is an old home from 1864, been renovated to fit 140 people in the ball room. You can have your ceremony there too

Casa Loma is awsome, I checked them out! Beautiful gardens! I’m not sure if they do outdoor weddings though? I got the impression that it’s indoors and outdoors for pictures. Miller Lash House is also beautiful, I checked them out as well. I think early September will be perfect weather wise.
