So.. all the stuff people have already said. My husband and I were TTC for just over a year.. but silver lining: we got that fall baby we wanted lol!
I really like having a fall baby. When they are super little you can go out cus they sleep no matter what, so fall is good.
When they’re a bit bigger they need to sleep at home (at least, mine and my friend’s do..) and their wake windows are so short you can’t leave the house much, so may as well be winter.
When they’re a bit bigger yet their wake windows start to lengthen and you can go for nice walks and relish the spring weather
And I’m really looking forward to taking full advantage of the summer 🙂

We didn’t want a winter baby because my birthday is right around Christmas and I hate it. We also live in the Midwest so the winters suck but that really wasn’t a huge factor in our decision because regardless we will have to deal with the weather. So we basically just waited to start for a couple months to avoid the winter months. If it took us longer to conceive then we wouldn’t have avoided those months the next year but we got our positive in November, I had one appointment in December and the baby and majority of my appointments will be this year. We are due in July and I’m not super excited about being heavily pregnant in high summer but we will make it work and we will have plenty of time for baby to be outdoors which will be nice.
I would just try to have your baby, you don’t know how long it will take.

After TTC for a year, I’d take any season to have a baby. You can’t plan for everything. TTC when you’re ready and prepared for a baby, and don’t just focus on when you think would be convenient.

Echoing a lot of Bees… We started TTC for a fall baby, and we got a spring baby. After 9 cycles, I just wanted a baby. We’ll start TTC for number 2 in September, for a late May/early June baby at the EARLIEST. I would LOVE a June baby, but my hopes aren’t high based on our previous experience. We just decided that the absolute earliest we’ll be ready for a baby is about a month or two after our daughter’s second birthday.

My ideal would probably be early summer. That being said, in my case time is not on my side (advanced maternal age), so at this point we are hoping to conceive ASAP, which might mean a winter baby. It’s really not ideal though. If we had more luxury with timing, I would not elect to have a winter baby with flu season and needing to worry about the baby being warm given that newborns apparently can’t regulate their own temperature.

My first baby was early October which I liked because I was on maternity leave until he could start daycare in the spring and flu season was over. Also he will be on the older side for his grade which I like (Sept 1 cutoff). My second baby was just born in January and got a really bad cold virus when she was 6 weeks old. Also, though I live in LA where it’s warmish all year, we had a rainy winter so I felt kind of cooped up with her a lot. I got pregnant. immediately both times but would have avoided a December baby if possible. Too much going on with the holidays. I also didn’t want a summer baby (ideally) because it gets crazy hot.
