Boston! But I’m from there, so I might be a bit bias. ๐Ÿ™‚ It’s super easy to get around on public transportation and tons to do.  If you’re interested in U.S. history at all, then there are countless things to do.  Might be a bit cold in March/April though.

If you want warm weather, I would make sure to stay south.  New Orleans perhaps?

@Boston Bee: As a NYC bee I can’t believe I’m saying this, but Boston is pretty awesome too. One of my BMs and I go every year for a long weekend.

Depends what you like.  I second NOLA — it is my favorite place visited (from philly,  been to, NYC, boston, san fan, vegas, florida etc…).  I think you’d have better weather there than NYC but they are COMLPETELY different in terms of what they offer.  If you like big cities and have an interest in broadway / museums etc NYC might be the way to go.

If you want a smaller-town getaway… Galena, IL is a cute boutique town – it’s 3 hrs. out of Chicago. ๐Ÿ™‚ Lots of B&B’s and unique shops.

Oh also,  I really wasn’t into Miami at all…. If you lean that way I have heard the keys are a lot nicer.  The beach was nice in Miami but I found the rest of the city to be really pricey etc.  Just my opion.

I can’t believe no one has mentioned DC!  DC is fabulous for being super-touristy, and especially in the spring… with the cherry blossoms, tulips, and great weather, this city was built for the spring.

I absolutely love New Orleans. It’s a great city to visit for so many reasons – it’s beautiful, historical, artistic, and most importantly the food is AMAZING.

@MyFavouriteChords: I second the ” Keys”  over “Miami” as in the city- they are often lumped into one .
