Maybe try a hot glue gun and just see how the ribbon in question reacts to it, sometimes it work out ok.

My only other thought for now is glue dots (I can’t think what they are really called) but I use them for scrapbooking to stick everything together 🙂

Good Luck!

I would use a glue gun.

I had a disaster with my invitations the first time round. DIYd nearly all of them and went to put the final stuff in the invitation and all the ribbon came apart!! all my hard double sided taping went to hell…

So i decided simplicity was key for the next round invitations. I decided that on my round two i would create invitations that required no ribbon to be glued.. I was that fed up with the first round!
Best of luck, i seriously reckon most of it is down to the brand of tape you buy. No cheap road!

I used hot glue to layer ribbon on our candy buffet jars. Just practice a couple times to get them the flatten out and sit nicely.

I used EK SUCCESS-Martha Stewart Adhesive Tab and Roll Dispenser. I stamped the ribbon in 3 places with the adhesive (the top, middle and bottom).

I also tried photo tabs and running double-sided adhesive down the full length of the thinner ribbon. The Martha Stewart adhesive stamp was by far the easiest and still effective.

I second using the Xyron, that’s how I attached all the ribbon in my scrapbooks. 5 years later, it’s still holding!

Glue Dots or the glue tape.  They both work very well!

I used glue dots to make ribbon belly-bands for our invitations. They worked like a charm and the best part is no sticky mess to worry about!

I used zips.  It’s made by the same people who made zots, but they come in long strings.
