My only suggestion would be to ask a travel agent about pricing and see what kind of quotes they can get you. I didn’t know carnival had higher quotes though than Expedia that is good to know as we are planning on a carnival cruise for our Honeymoon.

we used a travel agent and it was great. he found us a cheaper price than the direct website, and found us a better room (higher level and a balcony) than what was shown as available on the website. he also did 90% of the work for me, including heping figure out transportation to and from port.

Although I usually book everything online myself, for a cruise I would use a travel agent who specializes in cruises. There is so much to know about each individual ship-e.g is your cabin under the disco where you will hear the music till dawn?

you can do research for prices, reviews on individual ships etc  at http://www.vacationstogo.com and http://www.cruisecritic.com
