I broil ours for about a minute per side to get a crispy brown crust, and then drop the heat to 350 or so to cook through.  Darling Husband does medium, I do medium well.  After it comes out of the over I put herb butter on top and cover with foil while it rests.

I prefer them broiled! You just gotta fool with the temperature to get the crisp or rarity that you prefer. Theres some good websites that offer recs for what temp for how long if your interested.

The grill can taste like lighter fluid and charcoal to me.

I use a griddle if it’s super cold, otherwise I use our grill year round.

I sear each side on high in a cast iron skillet and them I put in the oven for 350 for a few minutes. Like another PP I put herbed butter on top when it rests.

I get a stainless steel pot really hot with butter and oil in it, cook on each side for about 1.5 minutes, and pop it in a 500 degree oven for 5 minutes. Thats for medium rare for a nice thick steak.

I use a grill pan and just treat it the same way as I would on the grill.

@skipper2010: I used to cook steak just in my cast iron skillet when I lived in my condo and couldn’t have a grill on the deck.  I think I did 5 min on each side for a medium rare.  Now, unless the grill is covered in snow, FH will always grill.

I’m with WifeofBath and BoiledPeanut…cast iron skillet and oven! Or my favoritest option of all is to not cook and get treated to a night at the brazilian all you can eat steakhouses. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I usually just put it in the broiler. You can still marinate it the way you would on a grill or topped with some argula, shredded parmesean, and a drizzle of olive oil is always very good.
