we buy our domains through godaddy.  they are relatively cheap for the names.  Don’t know much about the hosting through them, but a friend uses them to host!

I know you can do a .com/.org or .net set through WordPress. I think it ranges from $17-20 a year or so. The wordpress blogs are really user friendly but I dont know about how their actual websites work.

If you just want a blog then hosting it on wordpress and routing the domain there is probably the way to go. If you’re looking to build an actual ecommerce site I really like my provider liquidweb. But to build and host yourself you’re probably going to have to either learn a bit of HTML/programming yourself or you’ll need to hire someone. Most hosts will have commerce shopping carts built in as well as basic templating to build a site but for a professional site you’ll probably want a bit more than those tools offer.

@College: my Fiance uses godaddy.com for online gaming with buddies, and we just bought a domain for all of twelve bucks for our wedding website. I wanted the challenge of building it by myself from scratch. I haven’t actually done anything with it yet though, we’re still a long way out from needing it. I just love having a website with our names that will be ours forever.
