There are so many different flavors and fillings for cakes. What is the best flavor cake you have ever had at a wedding? You can include yours! My favorite (mainly because I haven’t been to a lot of weddings before mine) was a layer of our wedding cake. It was a white wedding cake with a caramel mousse filling with buttercream frosting. I want to go to the bakery and get a mini cake right now!

@naangel55 Woahhhh White cake with caramel mousse? Gimmie gimmie! I am personally a fan of white cake/chocolate frosting (or ganache). Never had it at a wedding (not even ours!)… still waiting… although I have a feeling if I was at your wedding, your white/caramel combo would have been my fave too!!!

We will have a layer of banana cake with tiramisu filling. Sounds weird at first, but it’s actually really good. The other layers are carrot cake–I know so many people don’t like carrot cake, but we do–and hey, it’s our wedding!!

The best wedding cake I have had as a guest actually came a grocery store bakery. It was strawberry (pink cake) with cream cheese filling and whipped cream icing on top.

@GoldenBear, carrot cake is delicious! Most people I know like it, and most bakers get it right but somehow it seems to be easy for other bakers to screw it up even though it’s not difficult to make.

Best cake I had was almond with buttercream. Simple, and soooo yummy.
