I think we are skipping favors and doing a late night passed appetizer instead. We figured after all the boozing and dancing people would like some food at the end of the night. Mini sliders or mini pizzas or some good drunk people food. We were going to do little jars of honey but figured for $200+ it would be better to skip favors and feed guests more lol.

We’ve decided to make a donation to a hospice that my dad spent four months in, instead of “traditional” favours. Is there a charity which you would like to support or anything like that?

juneweddingbee :  I love this idea. Instead of spending money on favors we are taking the money we would have spent and donating it to the cancer research institute. Many of my immediate family members have passed from cancer and so it is really special to me and my family.

juneweddingbee :  That’s a great idea!

I am going the materialistic route with mine. Doing large agate rounds for place cards that can then be used as coasters (they’ll just have their names calligraphied on, though considering a small edible too.

weilpartyof2 :  We are not doing wedding favors. They cost way too much for our budget of $10,000. Instead we plan on having a donut tier and serving hot coffee!

Amy Turner : That sounds like a lovely way to honour your family members who lost their battle. I thinks it’s nice to have something that does good and makes people feel good as well, rather than traditional favours that might end up just being left on the table or what not. My dad passed away from cancer, so I am fully in support of anything that helps find a cure and helps people lead a better quality of life who have beem diagnosed.

juneweddingbee :  It is very important to me. I have seen a lot of threads that view doing that negatively but I don’t care, because it’s extremely important to me and I know my family will appreciate it!

The two best favors I got were chocolate and wine! I like getting things I can eat or drink, so your ideas would definitely have me excited! lol I especially like the donut bar idea!

My mom and I made coasters using 4.5in square porclain tile, fun scrap book paper, mod podge, stick on cork backing and a waterproof spray sealant.  We used a custom stamper and waterproof ink to stamp personalization onto the bottom of the coaster.  It still had the personalization but not in a place where anyone who didn’t want to look at it didn’t have to.  Each guest got a set of two held together with twine and a little tag saying “Always coast through life with love”.  They were a huge hit & got a ton of compliments!

I literally just got complimented on our wedding favors by a race car driver! Haha. Fiance and I are NASCAR fans, and one of the drivers we like, Landon Cassill, always does a Facebook Live session shortly after the race. Tonight he talked about planting a piece of seed paper and is hopeful that it’ll grow into a flower or two. I commented on his video, and so far I’m the only fan to get a response, so I’m feeling pretty special!
