We did Target, Macy’s and Crate and Barrel. Most of my cooking stuff came from Target and Crate and Barrel.

As far as the best one out of the three was Crate and Barrel by far. They have the best registry perks/benefits.

We only have an Amazon registry. It’s pretty handy and you can add things from external websites. The non-Amazon items are listed as a Universal Registry and send you to the other sites. I like that everything is in one place. If we were registering for dishes or china, we probably would have gone with Target, Macy’s, or C+B, as well.

Our guest list represented a very diverse population in terms of geographic region, socio-economic status, income, and degree of closeness in their relationships to us.

We wanted our registries to cover a variety of geographic areas as well as price points so that options would be available to — and affordable for — anyone on our guest list who chose to seek out this information to give us a gift.

We actually had five registries, including Macy’s; Bed, Bath & Beyond; Target; Williams-Sonoma; and J.C. Penney.  Some of the registries were very small, and the only duplicate items were our china, which I listed on both the Macy’s and BBB registries, being careful to hand-manage these items so that we would not receive double the quantity for which we intended to register.

Bed Bath and Beyond and Macys. That pretty much covered everything we needed. I’ve heard terrible things about Target’s registry and their return policies.

We haven’t done our registries yet, but we will have at least 2, most likely 3. I grew up in a small rural area and we will register for either Wal*Mart or Shopko because those are the only stores we can register at without half of our guests driving over and hour to get to a better store (and most aren’t online shoppers).

Our second will be somewhere that we like, either BBB, Macys or Kohls and we are considering doing an Amazon one for some different option, but haven’t decided yet.
