With my wedding only 7 months away, I have yet to put together a “Wedding Website”!
What are the best or top wedding websites out there? What has been your experience or which one’s are you currently using?
There are a MILLION out there and I have heard mixed reviews. So far I’ve heard that Wedsite, MyWedding & WeddingWire are the best..is that true?
Also I’m curious if the “free” sites are not as good as the pay sites because your guests are forced to type in and remember a LONG URL ADRESS. Is there any way to forward a free site to a domain name that you paid for? Has anyone ever done that?
Would love your advice, tips, experience and even links (if your kind enough to share).
I’m an April FOOLS Bride as well as a CLUELESS BRIDE! lol

we used mywedding.com; it was really simple to use and has all of the set themes, online rsvp, custom pages, etc.
i know my friends have used ewedding.com as well; i think they’re picture formatting is a lot simpler/cleaner than mywedding.
good luck with your website you still have time!

I now need to check out Ewedding.com! Soooo many!
I still wonder if guests have a hard time typing in the url when it’s a paid wedding site.
Anyone have thay problem? Or found it easier to just have yournames.com or yournames.net etc…

Also.. I heard there are some sites with music?? That is kinda funky cool lol

I used brides.com. I don’t think our url is that long or hard to remember. I first set up a theknot.com w ebsite but hated it and how long the url was so I canceled it out.
brides.com has lots of different options that I love. I do believe they have the music option too but I haven’t added that to my page.
Good luck searching.

I also just saw in a previous post that people made FLASH websites on WIX.COM. Anyone have more info or have used WIX? Looks really nice

@April_fools_bride if you want I can PM you my webpage so you can see how it looks to get an idea.
I have no idea about wix.com

I used http://www.weddingwindow.com because it is highly customizable. You can pick a theme and then change all the colors and photos (you can even use the “dropper” feature to pull a color right off your invite or whatever you can find on the web). They have music, flash, and more. They do allow you to try it out free for a week or two, but I think that’s it. There are three pay options, and I opted for 2 years (no copyright at the bottom of the website, and custom domain name).

I love mywedding.com. They have a lot of really cute templates for free. Other sites had less cute stuff imo. Also you can use music on it too I think. Wix ran reaaaaalllly slow on my computer so I just quit trying to use it.

ProjectWedding.com is a pretty good one too.

I looked and looked, and finally settled on weddingwire.com. I’m very happy with the site!

Our site is through wix.com, and yes you can do domain forwarding. For right now, ours is http://www.LoveAndAcademia.com (we moved in together in Philly so I could go to school)
but I think the real site is wix.com/loveandacademia/LoveAndAcademia
It has flash, music, and lots of pics lol. I still have to clean it up a bit and make it more polished.

How did you do the domain forwarding for wix?

we are using weddingwire.com
I liked the customizable templates.
The budget and to do trackers are pretty cool too 🙂
