Has anyone ordered a dress from any of these sites? Based on pricing and the fact that they don’t mention making things themselves, I would guess they can just order from the manufacturer more cheaply than a bridal salon, but I’m hesitant to order online just in case. The dress that I want, Maggie Sotterro AD3395, isn’t in stock in any of the salons near me, so I couldn’t try it on anyway 🙁

I was considering buying my dress from Best Bridal Prices — I believe they’re a regular store, that also sells online. Call them up, it should help! That will give an idea of what they are. But based on prices, yep, there’s just not charging you overhead and commission since you’re buying it online!
(I haven’t checked the other two sites though.)

Are the prices on those sites a lot cheaper than a dress you would buy in the store? just wondering

I believe weddingshoppeinc.com is associated with The Wedding Shoppe in St. Paul, MN. So it’s probably their online store with the designers they carry.
If I were to order online, I think I’d feel more comfortable doing it on a site that has an actual storefront somewhere.

I’m not 100% sure since the designers don’t post prices on the sites, and I haven’t had a chance to do much “real” shopping. But there’s a girl selling her dress for $900 that bought it for $1400 and the dress is $948 on all three of those sites. Advantage to bestbridalprices is that they’ll throw in a veil and shoes (all of them ship for free!)

I bought a Dessy Bridesmaid or Best Man dress from bestbridalprices. It was authentic (from the designer), not a knockoff.
I accidentally entered the wrong date that I needed the dress by and was contacted by customer service within a half hour of ordering to see if I needed to cancel or put a rush on the order and they were super friendly/helpful. (Without a rush, I would be pushing it for the actual date I needed it for) – I skipped the rush option and received the dress about a week earlier than expected.
It was well packaged and if I remember right, required a signature confirmation on delivery (which is nice to have when you are spending so much, just in case).
I would buy from them again – definitely (the cost difference between what I paid and the local stores I checked saved me quite a bit!)
They do have a brick and mortar store ( it has a different name, but they are basically the same business.) I was told that when they receive the dress from the manufacturer that they inspect it in store before sending it on to you.

CCSR is correct about bestbridalprices. I bought my dress from their brick-and-mortar location (which is Carole Frew’s Bridal in Alton, IL). They were SUPER nice and really helpful. They order the dresses from the designers, they are not knockoffs.
Allure ended up being backed up with my dress delivery and they were going to deliver it 6 weeks late. They sold me the “in-stock” dress, which was inventory from the website not a sample, for 50% off and threw in the 3 pairs of Footzy Rolls (shoes) I bought for free. They were so wonderful about the whole situation.
I would absolutely buy from them again. Their customer service was awesome.

I don’t have any experience with the sites you mentioned, but I purchased the flower girl dresses from RK Bridal. They have a store in Manhattan, and an online program available here: http://www.rkbridal.com/Menu/NoFrillsProgram/tabid/761/Default.aspx . I was very happy with the prices and services there, and you can see if they carry the dress you like.

I ordered today! After the fact I saw even more positive reviews from other Bees. Thank you so much for the encouragement! I’m getting the dress, plus a free veil and shoes, free shipping and no tax…. It took awhile to convince my fiancé, but when I told him how all of the bridal salons I’ve been to only seem to have expensive strapless dresses covered in beads, he was much more sympathetic. Shouldn’t arrive until January of 2011 (one day before my birthday, what a great present), but I can’t wait to try it on for the first time 🙂

The dress came over Christmas and it’s gorgeous! They even dyed my shoes to match a swatch I sent them. A cert of authenticity from Maggie Sottero also accompanied it. Perfect, cheaper than a store would’ve been if a store actually carried it, and it came with shoes and a veil.

I ordered my wedding dress through BestBridalPrices.com, and they were AWESOME!. I got my dress about a month before they said it would come in, however, my dress was missing a crystal in its embellisment. I took pictures and emailed them the same night I recieved the dress and they responded quickly the next morning. They apologized, and paid for me to ship it back to fix it. When it came to me the second time it was perfect :-]. With as far as those dresses travel from the manufacturer, I think the crystal issue could happen to anyone, and they provided the best customer service to rectify the situation.
Also, a word to the wise… they beat other competitors prices by 5% :-].
