BEST/WORST Receptions You've Ever Been To?

None have been awful, but the ones I enjoyed the least were the ones where I was hungry, bored, or uncomfortable.  One ran out of food, another kept people waiting around too long for food, another didn’t have a single thing vegetarian at the buffet, another didn’t have enough seating inside – and seats were not assigned – so some of us ended up standing around outside in the middle of winter, freezing.  But the average wedding I’ve been to has been fine up until the dancing starts – I can’t dance (due to a medical issue and also I don’t like to anyway), and so many times I’ve had to sit around doing nothing for an hour or two because the dance music is too loud to talk and there is nothing else to do.

worst: my (ex) hubbys friend. exH was a groomsmen. I was on enroute to the ceremony and he called to ask me to go pick up booze for the boys. I didn’t know the area and located a drive thru. I then called back asking for directions as we weren’t given and invite to save on money and they assumed groom would communicate.

well of course my hubby was there n drinking so getting directions was impossible. They wete getting married on a beach and I was told to drive up and down the beach till I saw a group of people. wtf  then he complained how long I was taking.

my Mother-In-Law rang me to give me an actual spot to park and walk from but then berated me on being late and rude to her son. (don’t get me started)

I missed the ceremony and we headed to the reception. the groom’s mother was tanked and tipped a whole jug of beer over me. I got seated with some of groom’s mates who hit on me all night despite I was married and told them repeatedly. they were really crude.

and I was still sticky from beer. reception was at a lawn bowls club that had alot of funeral service signs. the whole day was depressing to me 😂

BEST- Its a tie.

My best friend I was Maid/Matron of Honor to. wedding at a winery cocktail style. the guests were brilliant. the ceremony gorgeous. everything ran on time. My bestie is not fussy so we got nphotos done fast then off to the guests. was a great night!!!

also my ex boyfriend was groomsmen for a destination wedding in the Cook Islands. great food venue entertainment had a blast!!!

Best: Friend of both my husband and I in Leeds. Lots of people travelled for the wedding and stayed at the same place. Lots of friends were there but also met lots of great people and the party went on for the whole weekend. The reception was so much fun – live band, lots of dancing.

Worst: Very stuffy reception. Multiple courses of food, which was lovely but took hours. During this were SO many speeches, most of them quite serious and involving the bride’s parents’ expectations of the groom. Long slideshow of the couple’s relationship, dress changes and more than one ‘grand entrance’. No live band and the deejay only had about 10 songs – when they were finished he just started them again from the beginning! That being said we still had fun.

I went to a cocktail style wedding with canapés where everyone literally got like TWO canapés each for the entire afternoon and evening. My friends and I got so drunk, and there was also not enough chairs for people to sit down. xo
