@Malawianchic:  I”m personally one for security.  I like the idea of the 18 month position.  There’s nothing saying you can’t look for something else if you end up hating it.

@Malawianchic:  The first option sounds a little sketchy, like a call center – especially since you found mixed reviews on the company. I think personally would pick the nonprofit (I like the idea of a smaller, more personal company, and possibly one with a meaningful purpose that is helping people, as many nonprofits do – that would appeal to me, and I would hope that the other staff might be cool people). But I would only pick the nonprofit if I had enough savings that I could survive for a little while if I don’t get hired at the end of the month. Hopefully, you’d be a good fit for them and would get hired… but if not, how long do you think it would be before you found another position, and could you afford the uncertainty?
