I need some help. I’m having a cake and punch reception and was thinking about serving lemonade, punch, and water as beverage choices. These beverages will serve about 80 ppl if my calculations are correct.
How many gallons do I need? The water will be provided in water bottles but I’m not sure how many gallons of the lemonade and punch I should provide. It won’t be a normal length reception, just about 2 hours. I’ve seen all kinds of answers on the net, so that wasn’t helpful.
Also any places you can recommend for a decent priced beverage dispenser. I haven’t found anything I liked on the internet that was worth the price. I’m not sure I’ll be using them often after the wedding. Thanks!

We have a Bubba Keg, they have a one-gallon and a 2.5-gallon one (http://www.bubbabrands.com/product_sizes/384/ ) which we love because it keeps cold beverages cold for a really really long time, and can also be used for hot drinks (and keeps them hot for hours too). They’re not exactly cheap but they’re not stupidly expensive and you could probably re-sell it when you’re done. You would probably need to DIY some clever decoration for it— they’re not pretty— but for keeping cold stuff cold, that’d be my pick.
As for how much do you need, that depends on a lot of stuff like the length of the reception, what time of day it is, indoor or outdoor, age of guests, etc. So it’s really hard for me to guesstimate but if you give some more details I’m sure someone will help you calculate. In general, I’d plan more beverages for outdoors than indoors and more beverages for a reception that is held in a hot part of the country like Texas than somewhere more temperate like Maine.
