@Stella11:  I went ahead and moved this to the Ottawa board for you. So sorry to hear about your negative experience! If I were in your shoes I would go ahead and make some move towards legal action. Call her and leave a message saying, “If you do not call me back and arrange to return our payment, I will be taking legal action for breach of contract.”

Business owners who don’t follow their own contract don’t work out well in court. Good luck!

@Stella11:  Did you give her a deadline? You need to write an email saying, “You have until this date (insert date) to return our money before legal action is taken”. Also, a written note and then make SURE you copy it. Something you can take into court showing you gave her a chance to return it. Give her about a week for the deadline.

@Stella11:  Hi Stella, sorry to hear about what happened to you. I own a well known bakery in Montreal. She ordered a 2000$ wedding cake from us with more than 200 sugar roses on it, once the date of delivery arrived she just wouldn’t answer the phone and once she would answer it was to make excuses about her not being able to meet us to receive the cake… (excuses like a flat tier… etc)

That cake took a long time to make and time is money. Our mistake was to let her pay on delivery but we thought because she was a wedding planner she would be a reliable person but she wasn’t. This happened a year ago, it’s incredible that this woman is still scamming people. Do never make business with KIM HERRINGTON.

Hi!

I almost got scammed by her but i think she didn’t go through with her plan because she was being sought after by a venue in Ottawa for stolen deposits.

She asked me to meet her at Diamond Class Events on Merivale Rd. and I went to her office and she never showed up. This, by the way, was on the worst rain storm night we have ever had in Ottawa. I got soaked in the rain banging on her door. Called her but she never picked up. Voicemail box full…sent several emails, no reply!

I had already made my deposit with the venue iteself and on my inital meeting with one of her employees, i provided them with the receipt. I guess they figured they couldn’t scam me.

It’s so hard to trust vendor here in Ottawa. I find a lot of them are very slow at responding and they seem to think we have no other options but them…

Wow I’m pissed for you! I live in Ottawa and HATE scammers! I have friends who are wedding/event planners, I will warn them not to associate with her.

@Stella11:  First of all, I DO NOT work for Diamond Class Events!! Secondly, why would you say that about me?  I offered to help you and this got turned into hating on me?  I didn’t have to come on here and offer help.  I did not have to agree to meet with you.  I did because I care and think that people get what they deserve (a wedding if they paid for it).

So, you can take that for what it’s worth.

i’m not sure how much Lee knew what was going. She met with us and could have totally asked for another deposit with her company but she told me it wasn’t necessary as i had mad a deposit elsewhere…its a very messy situation. Not sure who to trust when it comes to this company and the people involved.  Just don’t do business with this company and its former employees. Until people’s names have been cleared, customers can’t really trust the former employee who may have been inocent in all of this. Can’t blame the customer!

@NC_85:  I certainly feel like a pawn in this whole situation.  All I cared about was making sure clients got the event they expected.  I feel cheated too but certainly don’t blame others for feeling the way they do.  But as I stated before, if anyone wants to take legal action, I have information they may help everyone and to go after the right people!!
