Get creative!
You want a rustic/country style wedding so have you looked at local wineries or farms that could hold a wedding?
What about a local pioneer village or a park?
You need to start with a budget and a venue. Don’t worry about DIY projects yet they will come. Take a deep breath and take one step at a time – remember this is supposed to be fun!

Just because you have ‘set a date’ doesn’t mean that you are totally stuck with that date. I say, if you find a place you love, move the date for it. And don’t do anything else until you have your venue and date finalized.
I originally wanted 9-10-11, but had to go with a date in Aug so not to interfere with a friend’s wedding that will be in the fall. No big deal, it’s just a date.

We are trying to meet our families in the middle. Since his family is further south in ohio and mine is more north we wanted to go right in between and I dont think that is gonna work. The places I like are down where we live. I’ve been looking at different farms, and wineries. I think we will probably have to change the date but not liking too due to the lovely Ohio weather we have! But O well big breath and keep moving forward. I am having fun with it Im just going to have to go on a hunt one weekend and just drive. I Thank You ladies!!

One of the biggest gripes on the boards is bride’s getting frustrated trying to please everyone!
I will tell you right now – you can’t!
Have the wedding where you want to have a wedding! If people complain, oh well (people like having something to complain about)! They will be there if they love you!

It’s actually really hard to plan a wedding when you’re not living in that location. (Not impossible, just a lot of extra leg work!) It might even be better to do it where you guys are living currently.
