@MissAmethyst:   You live with him so it’s your house, too.  I don’t see why you can’t check it out, I would.  😉

I would look at it, I don’t think he would mind.

@MissAmethyst:   Haha!  That’s awesome.  I hope he sells it and puts the money towards a ring for you (if you want that).  🙂

You could tell him that alot of jewelry ocmpanies have trade in programs- where if he bought it there he can bring it back when shopping with you- most require you spend a certain percentage more. And I would peek- he isn’t hiding it and it’s part of what lead him there to you!

I’m actually wearing the ring that my Fiance gave to his first fiancee.  It’s an heirloom ring that belonged to his great grandmother.  It was a bit weird the first time he showed it to me because we had only been dating a few weeks but over time and since it’s a family heirloom, by the time he proposed it had lost it’s weirdness.

The only issue I see is if he gets a ring for you that’s not as nice or as big.  But it sounds like it’s not going to be difficult to beat if it’s simple and classic (I’m guessing solitaire on plain or cathedral style gold band?)
