jny1179: They are some strong lines!! Congrats lady. I’ve noticed a lot about CoQ10 recently but don’t have a clue what it is! Is it over the counter? I love hearing stories like yours. I’m rooting for you x

phoebephoebo: I was taking a CoQ10 at first along with my prenatal vitamin, but then I read things like this

“Not enough is known about the use of coenzyme Q-10 during pregnancy and breast-feeding. Stay on the safe side and avoid use.”

“Safety of Coenzyme Q10 Supplements During Pregnancy

Because coenzyme Q10 supplementation has not been well studied in pregnant women, evidence is lacking as to whether it is safe during pregnancy. Unless your doctor prescribes this supplement, either because you have low levels of CoQ10 or for another condition, avoid unnecessary risks and do not take CoQ10 during pregnancy.”

So I stopped taking it and just switched to a straight Omega-3 fish oil complex for my DHA

phoebephoebo: It is over the counter, and I was taking it based on a couple of books that strongly recommend it for egg health while trying to conceive. Now that I’ve accomplished that, and read the info above, I will probably stop it and switch to Omega-3 fish oil. I’m also going to have my Vitamin D level checked to make sure I don’t need additional supplementation there. I had my progesterone and hCG levels checked today so we’ll see what those are tomorrow. If my progesterone is even a hint low I will push for supplements. I know some docs are on the fence as to whether or not they help but after my last MC, I don’t care if someone recommends spinning around 3 times with purple shoes on for a healthy baby, I’ll do it. Based on the luteal phase spotting I’ve had forever, I’m convinced I have low progesterone, was going to have that tested with the other fertility testing that was planned coming up which is now cancelled.

jny1179: You’re welcome! I like to err on the side of caution but maybe I will take the CoQ10 for now until I am actually pregnant because I didn’t know that it was recommended for egg health! Then once I get my BFP I will go back to the Omega-3 Fish oils 🙂 so thank you for that info as well!

MapleCreekBride: I recommend two books, actually they are quite similar, the first one came first and the author has PhD attached to her name so I kind of trust her more. But it’s based on science, studies, etc. I don’t take fertility advice lightly and I really liked these books. I was always so focused on just the hormones, never thought about the eggs. It was eye opening!! They also recommend DHEA but I was going to wait to talk to my doctor about that.

jny1179: Awesome! Thank you so much! I will look for those and download one to my eReader for some light reading this weekend.

I love wedding bee, there are so many like minded people on here who all love reading, researching, and information hoarding as much as I do! It seems most people in real life think I am way overthinking this whole pregnancy and TTC thing but to me, knowledge is power! the more the better 😉

MapleCreekBride: I completely agree!!! I’m very logically minded and a troubleshooter by nature. I will go very far to figure out what’s going on with my body and to try to make it work!!

MapleCreekBride: I’m actually not pregnant, unfortunately!! Just cheering everyone on, for now. But thanks, at least if I take it I can stop when I get KU.

Quick TTC background: I’m a teacher so we wanted to try and aim the window so I could maximize my time off before summer of 2015. This was our first cycle trying for realsies although I have been off BC since like October of 2013. I thought I was out this cycle when I got a BFN at 14 DPO. Re-analyzed my cycle and decided I ovulated later than FF was saying and our timing was off during that time. Waited about 10 days to test again because AF stil hadn’t showed.

How / When did you find out: This morning! EEEEeeeeks!

How did you / will you tell SO: I am waiting until he is off work and I previously bought a little turtle onesie (he loves turtles) to give to him with the test. I can’t wait for him to get home!

TTC strategy (charting, OPKs, supplements, lying down after BD, etc.): Charting, taking prenatals, lying down after BD, BD EOD during FW, no drinking this month. That’s about it!

Cycles Trying: First cycle trying for real.

Anything new this cycle: Just dedicated charting.

Symptoms: Sore boobs and tender nipples was about it. Well, and no AF.
