I got my BFP a while ago but I’m bored and snowed in so I’ll fill it out πŸ™‚

Quick TTC background: DH and I got married September 1st and discussed prior that we wanted to TTC immediately. We’ve owned a home together for almost 3 years, are financially and emotionally/physically ready. DH is almost 30 so we didn’t see the need to wait. I got off the pill in April/May of 2012 and started charting temperature and CM at that time too. We used the charting to avoid our fertile window until we were married. After the wedding, I got AF while away on our honeymoon (which we went on immediately following the wedding). I think I ovulated on the 18th of september.

How / When did you find out: 10 DPO, a friday morning before work! It was September 28th, 27 days after our wedding and our first TTC cycle.

How did you / will you tell SO: I bought a onsie that said Daddy & Me, a card about the arrival of a new baby and I got an easy read “+” pee stick. I set all this up for him as well as a video camera to catch his reaction.

TTC strategy (charting, OPKs, supplements, lying down after BD, etc.): I charted for roughly 4 months prior to TTC, I noticed a short lutheal phase so I started taking B vitamins to help with that, we timed our BD and managed 0-4, 0-2, 0-1. And on 0-1 I stayed laying down for 15 minutes afterwards with my hips elevated.

Cycles Trying: 1

Anything new this cycle: We stopped avoiding BD around O.

Symptoms: I was exhausted, had lots of cramps and a little random heartburn and some nausea. Now I pretty much just have to deal with heartburn, I’m very lucky in terms of symptoms.

Link to your pregnant chart (if you have one): I’ll post it below.

@ScottishMrs:  Thank you πŸ™‚ I have dotted crosshairs because FF seems to think that fertile CM AFTER O might bring your O date in to question which is weird because fertile CM after O is actually an early sign of pregnancy. I guess they need to warn people that their O date may not be accurate? On the days marked as “W” though, I had a TON of CM. Like one of the days I woke up and thought AF had started based on how wet I felt (TMI, I know.. but helpful for people TTC because it can happen!)

Aww I want to play! πŸ™‚

Quick TTC background: My husband was adamant about waiting for a few years and I was really sad about that. Fast forward to when he got back from deployment in September, we started having conversations about trying in 2013. He decided we’d try in July. Well come November, I couldn’t get my BCP filled (long story about losing my military ID and they only let you pick up your RX with it, on post, anyway), so he just decided we’d just start NTNT without BCP. In Dec, I either had a chemical or got false positives, but on 1/24 (12DPO) I got my *real* BFP!

How / When did you find out: 1/24 at about 7 am. I got up and decided to POAS before work, not expecting anything. Within a couple minutes of POASing, I picked up the stick and was SHOCKED to see two lines, albeit faint! After work, I stopped and picked up an FR Gold and CBE Digi and they said “Yes +” and “Pregnant” Ahhh best day of my life.

How did you / will you tell SO: When I saw the second line, I ran in and jumped on top of him and woke him up (he had the day off). He was SO excited.

TTC strategy (charting, OPKs, supplements, lying down after BD, etc.): I tracked my CM/Position and I am really in tune with when I ovulated, based on pain and symptoms immediately after. I took Mucinex for my whole possible “Fertile window” (Jan 7-18–so big, bc I wasn’t temping, so I wasn’t sure when it would happen) and we BD’d O-3, O-1, O, O+1 & O+2 and I stayed in bed with my hips propped up for like 15-30 minutes after, each time. lol

Cycles Trying: 2

Anything new this cycle: Mucinex, a LOT more BDing, and staying in bed after.
ETA: This is the first cycle we decided to “actively try.” Last cycle we were NTNT, but this time, I was really paying attention to my body.

Symptoms: Period-like cramps, sore boobs/nipples, engorged nipples, darker areolas, white bumps on my areolas (Montgomery’s Tubercles?), dry mouth, lower back ache, fatigue, headaches (although, those aren’t new)…Now at 6 weeks exactly, I am bloated, gassy and a little constipated. I’m also starting to experience some nausea and crazy food aversions! The cramps and dry mouth went away for the most part, though. Oh what fun! πŸ˜‰ haha

I don’t know where my pic from 1/24 @ 7am went, but here are the ones I can find. Eww I hate how yellow the first pic is. You can tell my pee was REALLY concentrated haha

Quick TTC background: We have an almost 3 yo DD, married for close to 3 months, trying for our second since the wedding. Miscarriage in December, 1 cycle NTNP, 3rd cycle BFP!

How / When did you find out: Yesterday afternoon – I was heading out for a girls night and I just felt so pregnant I felt the need to test before going out (even though I’m not supposed to POAS until Wednesday)

How did you / will you tell SO: I told him to put down the iPad as I had something to tell him…we’re celebrating in a low key way until betas come back.

TTC strategy (charting, OPKs, supplements, lying down after BD, etc.): This is my 1st cycle charting, 2nd using OPKs…also lay down for about 30 mins after BDing

Cycles Trying: 3

Anything new this cyclecharting and observing CM, both which I credit for this BFP. I got my understanding of it from Taking Charge of Your Fertility.

Quick TTC background:  DH and I got married in June, and I went off BCP at the beginning of November.  It would have been sooner, but I have diabetes and my health wasn’t quite good enough until November which is when my doctor gave us the OK to start trying!

How / When did you find out:  This morning! I have been feeling PMS-y, but I just woke up reeeeallly wanting to POAS, so I did….I was super surprised that I got a BFP at 10dpo, and I was also not even totally sure I ovulated this month.

How did you / will you tell SO:  He was right there with me! As soon as I saw the line forming (which was maybe 10 seconds after the dye ran into the test, I was like “err…babe!!! OMG COME HERE!!” lol he was in bed and didn’t believe me until he saw the pink line when the 3 minutes were up Tongue Out

TTC strategy (charting, OPKs, supplements, lying down after BD, etc.):  I have been using OPKs, but I have a really long cycle and have been ovulating around CD30 ish.  I always started using the OPKs around CD10 but I would skip days in between because I was sure it wouldn’t happen that early.  I never tried charting.  I did lie still for 15 minutes after BD though, just in case hahah

Cycles Trying:  This was our second cycle, but third month

Anything new this cycle:  Nope

Symptoms:  The other day I thought I had food poisoning because I threw up after eating dinner and I was really sick, and my chicken had tasted a little off…now I’m wondering if it had something to do with pregnancy but I’m not sure.  I am sensitive to smells already (the other day I smelled french fries with salt and vinegar on DH’s shirt and he said he ate ONE FRY lol)…and super tired already.

Picture of the two beautiful lines:  OK I have a pic but it is before the 3 mins were up so it’s not as pink as it is in real life…

@ScottishMrs:  Yayy I LOVE this!! When everyone said its own thread – I didn’t really know if it was like a waiting list… I’m so glad you had the ideas to bring this all together! I LOVE this – and loved stalking all BFP stories while TTC. Best idea!

Quick TTC background: Went off BCP in September. Heard that by reading TCOYF I could know the exact day that AF would start, so I bought it (knew nothing about charting prior). Quickly became obsessed and started charting immediately.

How / When did you find out: Superbowl sunday early am I took a test. I started getting really cranky when it wasn’t positive immediately and pouted about wasting money. Then after a few minutes I saw this teeeeeny pink line. So faint that DH was like “yeah whatever.” So I waited two days, just knowing that it was postive – like my own little secret.

How did you / will you tell SO: Went to take the second test Tuesday am – dreamt my alarm going off, and POAS at midnight after a 1 hour hold, got a BFP, got back in bed, before I even realized what happened. I got back up, grabbed that test, told DH. He was still asleep and said “oh.” Then the next morning he said “did you POAS yet?” and I said “YES I told you last night it was positive and you said oh.” He goes “OMG! YAY! No coffee for you!”

TTC strategy (charting, OPKs, supplements, lying down after BD, etc.): Charting from the begining. I took mucinex during the fertile window (althought it didnt seem to help much). We BDed everyday.

Cycles Trying: 4

Anything new this cycle: I dont know if either helped. But I laid down for 10 minutes after BDing each time. Before I would get straight up out of bed. Secondly, I ate pineapple core for 5 days past O – apparently it can help with implantation. Was a coincidence at first – but I decided to keep it up once it happened.

Symptoms: No real symptoms, had a slight implantation dip at 9dpo on my chart. Backaches 4-6 dpo, and then some pinchy cramping from about 11dpo through about 15 or 16dpo. Not much – and still not much at 5 weeks.

Link to your pregnant chart (if you have one): can’t seem to get links to work, but fertility friend user name was Carolinabee

BD Timing: (added for Chelles07) We got in O-3, O-2, O, O+1 (EOD for 17 days, only missed one and it was O-1 – ha!)

Picture of the two beautiful lines: 12dpo picture (because I took multiple tests, lets be honest πŸ™‚ )
