I am an idiot. I took a test too early (10dpo, FMU), and of course, because I am crazy, I see a faint blue line. I know it’s probably nothing, and my husband definitely thinks it’s negative. It’s driving him crazy that I ask him to re-look at it every 3 minutes. 🙂
It’s the Rite-Aid brand of First Response Early Result.
I took another (same brand) just now which has no line – not even a faint one. This should reinforce the fact that this morning’s was negative, but my crazy takes over and just rationalizes that NOW there isn’t enough hCG in my urine – OBVIOUSLY. 😉
Pictures are uploaded below or you can take a look at the pictures here: http://s927.photobucket.com/albums/ad118/marchbaby2011/
It’s even HARDER to see in pictures. Please feel free to either play into my crazy or bring me back down to planet earth by telling me all about your faint line negatives. All I can seem to find online are faint line positives!
I will re-test tomorrow and update you – but who knew 24 hours could seem so far away!?

From the pregnancy tests I have taken, if you look at them, you can see a “faint” line of where it will show up if you are pregnant. Even an unused test has those faint lines. Sorry, but too me it just looks like the tests line. I don’t think it is a possitve. Give it a few days though, closer to your missed period, and test again. And if you have hcg in your urine, it will always be present.

don’t apologize! I seriously need opinions like yours 🙂 when I’m left all alone with my thoughts things get out of control 😉

what’s (10dpo, FMU)? And it looks negative to me. Maybe take one again in two days, or try one that has the words? Those “pregnant” and “not pregnant” ones?

oh either way i hope it works out and some how turns into a postive for you…fingers crossed…

I agree with Rosie about all pregnancy tests having a line in the variable window. It looks negative to me but who I am I to say?
I had a faint positive like 4 days before my missed period, then the next morning I used a digital and it said Not Pregnant. I took one the following day and I got “Pregnant” results from the on. I’m sure this isn’t common but maybe you’ll end up with a positive result. I would try a digital, there’s less room for interpretation.

That looks negative to me … even a faint line isn’t that faint, I think that is just the manufactured line where the pigment deposits.

I was in your shoes 2 weeks ago! First, I’ve heard that the tests with the blue lines are harder to read, so you might try using a test with red/pink lines. In blue line tests, it is common to get evaporation lines that show us as super faint lines. I’d wait 2-3 more days and test again. When I had a super faint line it turned out to be an evap line, and a few days later AF came back.
I hope you get the + you’re looking for.
