Here I am in the Tamsin! I loved wearing it. It was super comfortable, light, and easy to dance in! I felt like it was very well constructed and flatteringly cut For my body.

I agree with a lot of what Koiocha said. These points especially:

“BTW, both of my dresses are by the designer Jenny Yoo, and I find that they run on the larger side of street size. I’m normally 10 and that’s what I ordered online, but I probably could have worn an 8 or maybe even a 6. I had them altered locally because free returns don’t apply to my country, but I think if you are in the states it’s worth it to order a few and return them if they don’t work for you.

I absolutely would not say the dresses are cheaply made, at least not the Jenny Yoo dresses. They are much nicer quality and have more intricate details than what I saw at David’s Bridal and the local shops where I live. However, they do lack structure. My seamstress added some boning and extra support to keep them up. This worked for me, because mine was a destination wedding in Hawaii and I needed something light and easy to travel with. I think BHLDN dresses are nice for easygoing brides who don’t want anything too restrictive but still want something pretty and feminine.”

I did just that, ordered 2 and tried them on at home. Returned the one I didn’t like. I ended up with a Peter Som for BHLDN, and my mother was not impressed with the quality. It did wrinkle easily. However, I got a sweet deal on it and the understated feminine look ended up being way more my style than any of the over-the-top bridal gowns I tried on. I’m also a size 2/4 with a slim athletic build.

I had an abolutely amazing experience at the Nashvill trunk show yesterday. But, I will say that I appreciated the privacy that the show offered. We were at a wedding venue that’s an old house with a backyard garden for ceremony/reception and the room I had to get ready in was actually the bridal suite. I think the description that BHLDN is perfect for brides who want something pretty and feminine without being the traditional, restrictive style is a great description and I found them to be of great quality, even the ones that didn’t look great on me. I’d describe my style as vintage/bohemian and I’m not a fan of the super glitzy, strapless, corset-y type dresses. I tried on 6 dresses of all different shapes and styles, but ultimately am pretty sure I’m going with the one that was the reason I even went to the appointment, the Georgia gown. I’m having a rustic wedding with BBQ and bluegrass and I just picture myself in this with a flower crown and a dried lavender/larkspur/daily bouquet.

I wore the Avalon gown as my reception dress, I absolutely loved it!  The silk is thick, and the beadwork is incredible.

This style fit true to size, and the only alteration I needed was having the skirt hemmed.

I tried on the Astrid gown, which was really heavy as it was a fully beaded gown! The quality was great considering I only paid 500 for the gown!

Found my dress yesterday! The Ashton gown. I tried on many dresses and they were all beautiful, but this one just spoke to me! I’m having a very small, simple wedding at a Swarovski crystal mountain top resort a week before Christmas!

Delia maxi, Darla cami and Seville topper. This was initially my first pick until i tried on the Ashton!

I went to David’s bridal and hated pretty much everything in the store. Also, nothing beats the experience at BHLDN. The atmosphere is so romantic, relaxing, chic, and just had an overall good vibe. Private suite, champagne, beautiful decor.

Im 5’1, 140 pounds, 34Dear Daughter. These samples are a 12 (bit of pinning in back) I ordered a 10 but plan on losing 20 pounds and having it taken in. I wanted to just order an 8, but my stylist didn’t recommend that in the event I didn’t lose enough weigh (oh but I will!) *hungry*

I’m going with the Viola–they have it listed as a mother of the bride dress but it looks pretty bridal to me. I’d be pissed if my mom wanted to wear it to my wedding! I also ordered and tried on the Lucinda with the Aspen topper and the Leyna. I’m 5’9″ and generally a street size 10-12; I found the dresses to run true to size (ordered all in a 12 based; the Viola and Lucinda fit perfectly; the Leyna was a little big) and the length was great for my height and desire to wear flats. If I had wanted to wear heels the Lucinda would have been too short but the Viola and Leyna would have still worked. The 3 dresses I tried were all great quality, especially considering they were all under $500 and the Viola and Aspen were heavily beaded. I did not want a super over the top dress–we’re having an outdoor laid back ceremony and clam bake reception–and it just isn’t my style. Here are some mirror selfies of the dresses ๐Ÿ™‚

Leyna

Lucinda + Aspen (i don’t like how I look in strapless things)

Viola — the winner (only alteration I’m planning is to add buttons down the back)

This is the Francine dress. This was the only one I really loved and wanted. I tried on several other dresses but hated them. I have a curvy body and I agree the quality isn’t as great as other wedding dresses, but I also don’t have $5,000 for the wedding dress of my dreams. I bought this dress size 4, I am 5’4 and 130 lbs, hourglass. the dress fit my figure best but I have to get it altered and cups put in to hold everything up. I have 30 days to return and still looking. I like the simple vintage look so I’m ok with overpriced nightgown look ๐Ÿ™‚
