I have never been to a store, but I got my engagement dress, both of my grandmother’s dresses, and my future mother-in-law’s dress online, and they were great! The dresses usually arrive in a week or so, and all of them were true to size (besides the length), and they are all returnable! I don’t know if it’s different for wedding dresses though. Good luck!

I went to the store in Houston and had a pleasant experience. I had tried on the “Penelope” at another bridal store and I tried it on again in Houston. The girl advised me to order a size 4 but I actually need a size 0.

I would advise looking at the dress size chart if you decide to order an Bhldn dress.

Happy hunting!

My two Bridesmaids wore dresses from BHLDN. In hind sight, I would not have gone with them if I knew the headache that was going to be ordering dresses from them. Long story short, each of my bridesmaids ordered their dresses from BHLDN independently and each of them had varying issues.

My sister tried the dress on in store in a size 4 but we didn’t decide on it until the next day – called and asked if they could ship us the size 4 to which they responded that they no longer had it. Okay fair enough. My mom called stores all over the US to see if any of them had and were willing to ship the dress in a size 4  since the color was being discontinued – Nope nobody had it but there was a size 6 at the store we originally went to. So that store sends us the size 6 which my sister had altered down to fit her. Two weeks later I go onto their website and what do you know – a size 4 was available for order… Seriously? Also – they originally put in the order for my sister’s dress in the wrong color. When they sent my mom the confirmation via email she luckily noticed the color was wrong and called and had them change it.

My other bridesmaid had similar issues finding a dress in the right size, right color. Since the color was being discontinued, it was supposed to be on sale. My sister’s dress was on sale but for some reason then would not give my second bridesmaid the sale price even though it was the same exact dress and on the website the dress was listed as a SALE.

Honestly, Don’t go with them if you can’t try on a dress in store and buy it that day. I don’t think they have their shit together when it comes to knowing their stock.

I tried on 3 dresses at BHLDN, and the third dress was MY dress, I recommend trying them on if possible because the two dresses that I came into the store to try ended up not being my dress. I ended up getting a beautiful watters gown that I never imagined I would have ended up with.

bywater:  I went to the Houston store and had a nice experience. You can tell them your size and the dress styles you like ahead of time so they are all pulled for you. I was obsessed with many of their dresses, and while their prettiness didn’t disappoint, I will warn you they are incredibly thin. For most, every lump and bump will show, and I just didn’t feel comfortable without any real structure. But, it was a good shopping experience, I didn’t feel body shamed, and they even were gracious about how ridiculously large my party size had grown to.
